WWE Rewriting Past Mistake

This past Monday Night saw a Raw where Stephanie McMahon was arrested after attacking a former employee who was sitting in the audience. WWE rules dictate that a wrestler or active employee must never lay their hands on a WWE fan or universe member, unless the member jumps the barricade/guardrails and attacks the WWE employee first. Brie Bella never attacked Stephanie McMahon while she was sitting in the crowd, but rather verbally provoked her. WWE encourages its fans who have paid for their ticket to chant anything they feel toward a wrestler, as long as they don't hurt anyone else, and have a good time in their confines. Brie Bella did that. The most Brie Bella could be charged with it taking a hold of WWE property (microphone) from a WWE performer (Stephanie). This is the top female feud right now, and many would argue the TOP feud (of the summer) in WWE.. The year is 2014.

The year WAS 2011, and the top feud of the summer in WWE was CM Punk's contract coming to an end, and him having left with the legitimate WWE Championship. He was fired the following night by a (Mr.) McMahon. The beauty of that feud, of Stone Cold vs. Mr. McMahon, Daniel Bryan vs. The Authority, or any employee vs. boss storyline has been the SLOW burn. We saw a slow burn with McMahon vs. Austin which lasted from October 1997 to realistically April 2001. We saw a slow burn with Bryan vs. Authority which lasted from August 2013 to April 2014. We have seen a slow burn for Stephanie vs. Brie which has lasted from April 2014 to August 2014 (or beyond). We never saw a slow burn with CM Punk vs the boss. Punk came back two weeks later and that summer became less fun. The WWE Universe doesn't want instant gratification when a storyline is great. The universe wasted to be teased with CM Punk appearances in the crowd just like those of Brie Bella this past Monday. We should have seen Triple H slap CM Punk in 2011 and perhaps get arrested in similar fashion to his wife this past Monday. Or maybe this is just a message WWE has sent CM Punk where they have rewritten his history with a woman taking his place.
