WWE Tune-Up: Tag Team Division

In this series, we look at a subject in the WWE that has fallen out of relevancy and create a way to bring it back into the limelight.

The tag team division has been suffering since the break-ups of The Real Americans, The Shield, The Prime Time Players, and 3MB. Now for a tag team division like the one in late 2013/early 2014 that greatly showcased tag team wrestling, all you need is more teams with meaning and not two mid-card acts thrown together with no explanation and call them a team.

As of right now, the division looks like this:

Usos

Wyatt Family

Rybaxel

Los Matadores

R-Truth & Xavier Woods

Heath Slater & Titus O'Neil

Goldust & Stardust

Although a few of those teams can carry the dying division just fine, they are only as good as their opponents and the division can't be carried by Usos vs. Wyatt Family for every PPV. That is why, if WWE were to utilize the following pairings, the division would pick up in an instant. Up first:

The Show Offs

As you know, Dolph Ziggler is one of the most entertaining pieces in the WWE product right now in whatever he does, he does it to perfection. Due to a series of injuries and a lack of faith from higher ups, Ziggler is floating in the midcard when we all know he deserves much more. Now a team called The Show Offs must carry charisma and personality, which is why there is no one better to share the screen with Dolph than the directionless Zack Ryder. Zack and Dolph have shown to be good friends in real life and share the same cockiness and attitude it takes to show off to the audience. The team could form as easily as Dolph or Zack running in for a save from a beatdown. Then all you have to do is give them talking time, matching t-shirts and a match and they will without a doubt steal the show.

The Awesome Truth

The pairing of R-Truth and The Miz may not sound great at all right now, but here's how it could work with Miz's new gimmick. R-Tuth, a once promising heel, is currently releasing a rap album later this year. Now having a rapper and an actor on the roster, Miz proclaims that he is better than WWE and deserves more, when Truth comes out and agrees. Saying that they are A-list talent and start up a delusional rapper character, similar to The Miz. Now you have two underused talent with a great gimmick and a reason behind the pairing.

The Rockin Exotic Express

What else makes Adam Rose's Exotic Express more awesome than the "One Man Southern Rock Band" Heath Slater, creating a team of fun loving party animals with a comedic style to carry the entertainment part of the show.

Sin Cara, Kalisto, & Ricardo Rodriguez

Although it may sound ridiculous at first, Ricardo Rodriguez was a great babyface manager and could become the mouthpiece of the voiceless Sin Cara and the rookie Kalisto, and finally creating a respectable luchador style tag team that has been missing for a while.

These pairings along with a couple teams down at NXT such as the Ascension, could help rebuild a once strong tag team division and create even more interest in tag team wrestling.

That's it for WWE Tune-Up! Please leave a comment suggesting my next topic in WWE in need of some new light.
