Chicago, Illinois, is one of the most famous cities in the United States.
In addition to the Bears football team, and of course the hapless Cubs baseball squad, you also have the Sears Tower, Chicago-style pizza, a badass song by Frank Sinatra, and even Oprah Winfrey! But let's face it, you can't talk about "The Windy City" without talking about gangsters.
Al Capone ... Bugs Moran ... Prohibition ... the St. Valentines Day Massacre.
Since people getting shot to death by Tommy Guns is fun to exploit, WWE decided to take advantage of the "Gangster Era" for its WrestleMania 22 pay-per-view (PPV) event, which took place inside the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois, on April 2, 2006.
And Chicago native CM Punk was there.
He wasn't wrestling just yet, still under a developmental deal, but he had the distinct honor of playing one of the gun-toting stooges on John Cena's gangster squad, complete with pinstripe suit and matching fedora, to lead the WWE champ into his match against Triple H.

What's great about this clip, knowing Punk the way we do now, is how much he must have loathed playing dress up, especially under Cena, at the "Showcase of the Immortals." I wonder if he thought to himself, while waving that piece around, that he would someday headline WrestleMania.
And who knows, maybe someday he will.
