WrestleMania 30 Predictions: Randy Orton vs. Batista vs. TBA

The WWE world heavyweight championship title match with a third participant no one can be sure of. How to predict that?

With WrestleMania 30 all set to invade the Mercedes-Benz Superdome this coming Sun., April 6, 2014, live on pay-per-view (PPV) and the WWE Network, it's time to go about making predictions for the biggest show of the year. The match card is filled out and the cSs staff of learned blowhards will give their best guess on who is going to emerge victorious this weekend.

But instead of doing this all in one post and giving you a wall of text and 3,000 words to read through, we'll give the top five matches their own post then cover the undercard.

Got it? Good. Up next:

Randy Orton vs. Batista vs. TBA

The General: In some ways, WWE has done a masterful job of setting up this main event. Here we have Randy Orton vs. Batista with the promise of a third man added to the mix, either Triple H or Daniel Bryan, and fans are so confused as to how things will play out, scenarios are being bandied about calling for a Fatal Four-Way involving all of the above. People really and genuinely have no idea what's going to happen here. What's more, any scenario doesn't seem entirely implausible. Well, that may not be true. The one conclusion I can't picture in my mind's eye is Orton walking out of the Superdome as WWE world heavyweight champion. It's either going to be Batista (huffing and puffing to the oxygen tanks that will surely be awaiting him at Gorilla) or Daniel Bryan (while the crowd goes insane chanting "YES" with him) or Triple H (while everyone in the building throws trash in the ring like it's a 1997 episode of Monday Nitro). No different than my prediction for the Bryan vs. Triple H match, I can't imagine WWE would tell this story in this way and not pay it off the way the story is begging to be paid off. That means Bryan beats Triple H, then he struggles but ultimately triumphs in the end and hoists those two championship titles over his head while the live audience gives him the greatest memory of his entire lifetime.

Pick: Daniel Bryan

Sean Rueter: As I prattled on about in the last prediction post, I'm not super-confident in the form this match will take. I think there's a greater than zero percent chance that it's a fourway, and that we get to the right outcome through the wrong set of doors. Could Bryan pin Orton following a Batista Bomb to The Viper? Would we be okay with that as long as Triple H had been dispatched with a Busaiku Knee? Does a win at 'Mania guarantee us anything more than a Mysterio-esque month of losses for The Beard followed by The Animal's promised title reign? Let's worry about all of that after the show. First, let's celebrate a Superdome full of people chanting YES!

Pick: Daniel Bryan

Hulk Holland: I don't think there is any question we're getting Daniel Bryan in the main event of WrestleMania 30. The only question now is, will Triple H join him? I wouldn't be surprised to see a screwy finish that sends both men to the headlining act, but I think once they all get there, D-Bry comes out the winner. It's really the only scenario that makes any sense after a six-month burial of the YES! movement. Even if you want to take the strap off him at the next pay-per-view (PPV) event or start some silly feud with Batista, fine, but this is the moment we, as fans, have all been building toward. Not only do we deserve it, we've earned it. So too, has Bryan. Anything else would be uncivilized.

Pick: Daniel Bryan

Keith Harris: Whatever happens earlier in the night, Daniel Bryan will be the third man and Triple H won't be competing for his 14th World title, unless Vince McMahon has completely lost his mind. The title will change hands, as was always planned, given that Orton seems content to coast in a safe low gear, unwilling to shake up his character or ring style to reach a higher plateau, so that the decision-maker's won't regret putting the strap on him, but also won't second guess taking it off him. Given the amount of times they've screwed over Bryan, you can't discount that they'll do it again, keep him chasing a little while longer, whilst also sending a stubborn message to the fans that they won't let their plans to crown mainstream movie star Batista be hijacked by the whims of an outspoken hardcore minority. But surely even WWE realises that will be one swerve too many and it's time for Bryan to have his moment in the sun? I think they do, but Bryan may not have long to appreciate that victory, as Evolution could reform and take their revenge on Monday Night Raw the next night.

Pick: Daniel Bryan

Cain A. Knight: The only thing that seems certain in this match, other than Batista being winded in less than 5 minutes, is that Randy Orton will lose the championship. I can see scenarios where Bryan, Batista, or even Triple H walks out as the champion. Can you imagine if this turns into a fatal 4-way, how surreal it might feel every time Triple H goes for the cover and is on the brink of once again being champion? He wouldn't really book himself to win this match, would he? Well, even I don't think WWE is that insane. It can be argued that WWE has ended the last 6 to 8 PPVs in a fashion where the customer plucked down a bunch of money only to get an unsatisfactory conclusion. WWE absolutely cannot continue that trend here at WrestleMania 30. If Daniel Bryan does not end the show with a championship in each hand while in the midst of an endless swarm of YES chants, then WWE really doesn't know what's best for business. And let's all just hope that the guest host Hulk Hogan inserts his mandatory WrestleMania pose at the conclusion of the John Cena match rather than this one.

Pick: Daniel Bryan
