Rumor Roundup (April 28, 2014): Shield plans, Stephanie McMahon angry, Vince McMahon's new favorite, more!

What's going on with NXT Takeover? Why was Stephanie McMahon livid? Who has caught Vince eye now? Possible answers to these questions in today's Rumor Round-Up.

For many fans, reading about rumors -- and trawling the sites that traffic in them -- has become as popular as watching the matches themselves. In this daily column, we take a look at the biggest rumors and weirdest stories being churned out by those pro wrestling "news" sites.

Important reminders: Rumors are "rumors" and not "news" for a reason, folks. That which has not been confirmed as legitimate news or fact will be made clear. Also, don't let these things ruin your day. It gets better.

What's next for the NXT and WWE?:

With Takeover just about a month away, the NXT rumor mill is starting to ramp-up.

  • The dirt screens are reporting that the NXT Takeover "special event" will likely mark the last appearances of Bo Dallas and Adam Rose in the developmental program. This seems to indicate rather directly that one or both of them will be debuting very soon. Nothing has been reported with regards to when exactly that will be happening, but it seems it should happen before the show -- for at least one of them -- in order to build anticipation for NXT's big new show.
  • It also looks like the Shield will be appearing on the special event. Whether their cosmic rivals, the Wyatt Family, will also be making an appearance has not been discussed. Or at least not leaked to anyone.
  • In what seems like it has potential to end hilariously, new WWE talent are being encouraged to name their own finishers. We at the Rumor Round-Up were not able to confirm whether or not there would be a limit on puns on last names/names tied to gimmicks they will inevitably abandon, but we'd imagine there'd pretty much have to be.
  • And finally in this little NXT news rumor round-up, developmental talent Baron Corbin -- née Tom Pestock -- appears to be moving on to a biker gimmick. He'll be managed by Raquel Diaz, who you may know as Vickie and Eddie Guerrero's daughter, Shaul. There are no words, but there is this picture:

Random Rumors and NEWZ:

  • When she comes back from shooting The Marine 4, Summer Rae'll be entering immediately into a feud with the Diva that stole her 'Dango -- Layla. It seems very likely that this program will break the record for total dance-offs in a single feud, held previously by ... the last feud that Summer Rae was in.
  • Not surprisingly, Stephanie McMahon is not happy about the Raw script that was recently leaked onto the internet. It also appears that -- considering the company doesn't use paper copies in the WWE offices anymore -- the script was left behind at a show, where it looks like it was stepped on and accidentally lost.
  • Vince McMahon himself is behind Bad News Barrett's recent mega-push. Vince has been especially high on the Englishman and his character since his hit Hall of Fame speech, where he ridiculed many of the current stars on the roster for their relative lack of success. Speaking of which, hopefully this run goes better than the last time Vince designated someone from the United Kingdom the Chosen One.

If you have heard of any interesting rumors that you'd like to add, feel free to post them in the comments section below. Please remember, these are merely rumors. Try not to take them too seriously, just have fun with them. If you just get too angry, check out the best #InternetWrestlingWriting of the last week from Cageside Seats and everywhere else.
