The show features
Ever since SummerSlam, Triple H, his wife Stephanie McMahon and his various allies in The Authority have confounded Daniel Bryan's attempts to climb the WWE mountain because they say he is a B+ player...and decidedly not best for business. It took utilizing his fans and almost taking Raw off the air, but The Beard finally has Hunter's attention. Though he paid for it with a brutal beating at the hands of The Game, Bryan has a shot a revenge at WrestleMania when he faces Haitch, with a chance to compete for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship on the line.
The man who has held the WWE title since SummerSlam (and who unified that belt with the WHC when he defeated John Cena at TLC), Randy Orton, and the 2014 Royal Rumble winner, Batista, were none too pleased with the Chief Operating Officer's decision regarding Bryan. Having had enough of their complaining, The King of Kings decided that not only would he defeat the bearded upstart, but he'd end the whining of his former Evolution followers by entering the triple threat himself and claiming the titles.
The co-main event(s)
Any appearance by the legendary Dead Man qualifies as main event worthy, but when he and his 21 - 0 record show up for The Showcase of the Immortals, it transcends any traditional means of weighting a card. While not many give Brock Lesnar a realistic shot at breaking The Streak, the former UFC Heavyweight champion is a special attraction in his own category as well. The battle between the two icons should be a brutal spectacle worthy of top billing regardless of the predictability of the outcome.
It's hard to believe that it's been less than a year since Bray Wyatt joined the main WWE roster. In that time, he and his followers have laid waste to everyone in their path. At Royal Rumble, they drug John Cena into that path. This Sunday, Bray's quest to prove to the WWE Universe that Cena is a liar will collide with the Ce-nation leader's mission to honor his legacy in front of the eyes of the world.
In other action
It hasn't exactly been smooth sailing for The Shield the last few months. As the internal disagreements flared, the losses started to pile up. But now that Director of Operations Kane has given them a common enemy once again, The Hounds of Justice appear as unified as ever. Will fellow friends-of-The Authority Road Dogg and Billy Gunn be able to help Devil's Favorite Middle Manager against Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns?
Jimmy and Jey Uso finally captured tag team gold with their win over the Outlaws on the March 3rd episode of Raw. They've defeated all comers in the month since, and they'll have to do it again when Ryback & Curtis Axel, The Real Americans and Los Matadores all dive into a Fatal 4-Way with the bronze eagles up for grabs.
WrestleMania host Hulk Hogan came up with a way to honor his departed friend and foe Andre the Giant with a match that he always excelled in - the battle royal. Thirty men, including a bevy of fan favorites and former champions like Dolph Ziggler, Sheamus, The Big Show, Mark Henry and more will compete for the honor of calling themselves the first winner of the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal.
Smackdown General Manager wanted to not be upstaged, and to serve some humble pie to the longest reigning Divas champ AJ Lee, and booked a multi-woman match for 'Mania. At one fall to a finish, the odds are quite good that Vickie will get her revenge when AJ loses her belt without being defeated.
