Considering the fact that current WWE Divas Champion AJ Lee hasn't necessarily been involved in any one single feud over the past couple months, instead bouncing in and out in match-ups against Total Divas and Non-Total Divas alike, it's been anyone's guess how the powers that be would book the championship at the biggest show of the year.
Now we know, and it's going to be one big modified clusterfuck.
Indeed, as announced on last night's episode of Monday Night Raw in Brooklyn, AJ will put her title on the line at WrestleMania 30, scheduled for Sun., April 6, 2014, at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana, in what's being called the "Vickie Guerrero Divas Invitational Challenge".
Although the rules of the match aren't explained in great detail over at WWE.com in the preview for the bout, it appears that 14 women will be in the ring at one time and a single fall will decide a winner. Here's the thing: It doesn't matter who pins who, just that someone gets pinned.
So, yes, AJ could lose her title when, say, Nikki Bella pins Aksana with Lee on the other side of the ring getting beat up by Brie Bella. Or any other number of scenarios involving any of the following title challengers:
- Brie Bella
- Nikki Bella
- Rosa Mendes
- Eva Marie
- Tamina Snuka
- Summer Rae
- Alicia Fox
That is everyone currently listed on the Divas roster page other than Lana, Lilian Garcia, Renee Young, and Vickie Guerrero. However, Vickie set up the match, Lilian will likely introduce them, and Renee will undoubtedly do an interview with any or all of them. So they're all getting in on the WrestleMania payday.
Except for Lana, who is currently managing Alexander Rusev, who is probably off talking in Bulgarian and confusing someone. He's still not currently booked for a match on the card, and that includes as a participant in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal, though a few spots are still open.
