Rumor Roundup (March 11, 2014): WrestleMania 30 main event, matches, TNA problems, more!

Big things coming for Big E?

Today's rumors: Scenarios for Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania 30 and after, other matches rumored for the card, Andre the Giant Battle Royal details, and more!

Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.

Important reminder: Rumors are just that -- rumors. None of this has been confirmed as legitimate news or fact; so remember to take it all with a grain of salt.

Rumors for the Day:

  • After months of clamoring, it seems that the WWE Universe has gotten its wish: Daniel Bryan will battle Triple H at WrestleMania XXX and, if he wins, will then be inserted into the WWE World Heavyweight Title match with Batista and Randy Orton. As of right now, the plan seems to be for Daniel Bryan to defeat Triple H, but lose in the title match (almost certainly due to Authority related shenanigans) to set up a summer feud between he and Batista, with Bryan likely to (finally) go over at SummerSlam. There is also talk of Bryan possibly winning both matches at WrestleMania XXX, but then lose the title to Batista at Extreme Rules a month later. Either way, it is shaping up to be a big summer for the "B+ player."
  • If you've been reading over the past couple of weeks, you'll know that WWE is trying to avoid having multiple triple threat matches on the WrestleMania XXX card. With Daniel Bryan's likely insertion into the main event championship match, making that match into a triple threat, it could mean a shakeup for the rest of the card. It had been rumored that Cesaro and Jack Swagger could end up in a triple threat match against Big E, but not it appears that those two will have their own match to finalize the break up of the Real Americans. As for Big E, the talk of an Intercontinental/United States title unification match is heating up once again. Big E's buddy, Mark Henry, is taking on Dean Ambrose for the US title on Main Event tonight, and a title change is expected. Henry will then likely put over Big E at WrestleMania XXX, having Big E unify the titles to get his long-rumored push going.
  • Hulk Hogan announced last night on Raw that there will be a 30-man Battle Royal in honor of Andre the Giant at WrestleMania XXX. The match will likely be filled with guys there was no room for elsewhere on the card when all is said and done. Right now, two of the confirmed entrants are Curtis Axel and Ryback. It is also believed that Alexander Rusev will participate and may be a darkhorse candidate to win the match, kicking off a summer where he will star as a midcard monster heel.
  • TNA continues struggling right along. After only selling about 900 tickets to their Lockdown pay per view on Sunday, word is that they're now having difficulty with booking tapings at Unversal Studios. They returned to Universal several months ago after the massive failure of taking Impact on the road, but could not get their old "Impact Zone" back as it had been converted by the studio. TNA officials are trying to work out deals with casinos for future tapings.
