Hyped for an entire week, Hulk Hogan made his way to Monday Night Raw this evening (March 10, 2014) in Memphis, Tennessee, to make his special announcement for the WrestleMania 30 pay-per-view (PPV) scheduled for April 6 in New Orleans.
The big news? The announcement of a 30-man over the top rope battle royal.
This one is in memory of Andre the Giant, though, and the winner will receive a special Andre the Giant Memorial trophy. It's in honor of the WWE Hall of Famer.
No participants were announced for the match.
Announced by WrestleMania 30 host "The Immortal" Hulk Hogan - whose bodyslam of Andre at WrestleMania III in front of 93,000 WWE fans remains one of the most iconic Show of Shows moments - the contest will feature 30 competitors seeking to create a lasting WrestleMania moment, etch their name in the history book and capture the Andre the Giant Memorial Trophy, made in the image of the inaugural member of the WWE Hall of Fame, who was all but unbeatable in the battle royal format.
John Cena did come out to greet Hogan during his announcement and threw his name in the hat to enter the match, but The Wyatt Family interrupted and Cena challenged Bray Wyatt to a singles bout.
So there you have it.
