Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.
Important reminder: Rumors are just that -- rumors. None of this has been confirmed as legitimate news or fact; so remember to take it all with a grain of salt.
Rumors for the Day:
- Remember last week when we mentioned that WWE officials are considering a third person on the level of the Ultimate Warrior and Jake Roberts? It turns out that the person in question is Scott Hall. It sounds as if this is likely to happen. Adding Hall, and likely Paul Bearer, will round out the individual inductions for the 2014 WWE Hall of Fame class. As always, the WrestleMania I main event tag team match is still being considered, but is said to be held up until Mr. T accepts the induction.
- Good news on the NXT talent front: Sami Zayn and women's champion Paige have been cleared to return to action. Zayn wrestled at an NXT house show over the weekend and everything appears to be on track for his 2 out of 3 falls match against "Cesaro" at the live edition of NXT in two weeks. Paige did an in-ring interview at another show last week, and came out to a new entrance theme which many are taking as a sign that she will soon be called up to the main roster.
- Speaking of developmental Divas, it appears that no new female wrestlers will be given last names as their ring names. One look at the roster shows that the majority of divas do not have them already, but it is apparently now official policy.
- It appears that NXT's Byron Saxton will be joining the main shows in a full time role headed forward. Saxton made his Raw debut on Monday night interviewing Sheamus, He will be joining Renee Young in that role headed forward.
