Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.
Important reminder: Rumors are just that -- rumors. None of this has been confirmed as legitimate news or fact, it's just circulating around the pro wrestling rumor mill. Remember, take it all with a grain of salt.
Rumors for the Day:
- It looks like there may be a power struggle within WWE at the moment between Triple H and Vince McMahon. Court Bauer remarked recently on MLW that Vince will often undercut Triple H on certain moves and while it may be simple miscommunication, there are "struggles" between the two.
- Another problem with Triple H is Wall Street is not sold on him taking over for Vince McMahon and WWE is trying to work out a plan to get that figured out.
- One of the reasons WWE was thinking of doing a 40-man Royal Rumble next year was because they were planning to use old ECW stars for the match, seeing as the show will be in Philadelphia. Now, however, it appears that's been scrapped altogether.
- Next week's episode of Raw is expected to be big one, with Brock Lesnar returning. There appears to be a major angle planned.
- There were rumors going around that Shelton Benjamin may be returning to WWE due to WWE filing for a trademark regarding merchandising. PW Insider has reported that the "trademark number actually shows that WWE filed a notice of cancellation that were no longer claiming ownership on 11/14". So there you go.
