WWE ran the Allstate Arena in Chicago, Illinois last night to kick off its weekend house show run and during the course of the evening, the company announced that it will return to the venue next year for its Extreme Rules pay-per-view (PPV) on April 26, 2015.
The Ticketmaster pre-sale started last night using the code EXTREME. Tickets will go on sale to the general public on Jan. 10.
Once CM Punk left WWE back in January, Chicago became a hotbed of hostility toward the promotion for perceived injustices both real and imagined. Naturally, the reaction to the news that another PPV would take place in the city has been met with wonder.
Fortunately, Punk has signed with UFC and made clear he's moving on with his life. WWE is undoubtedly hoping its fan base will come to the same conclusion and allow the performers actually performing at its events to entertain them instead of pining for a former star who has made clear he doesn't miss pro wrestling.
Any Cagesiders planning on attending?
