Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.
Important reminder: Rumors are just that -- rumors. None of this has been confirmed as legitimate news or fact, it's just circulating around the pro wrestling rumor mill. Remember, take it all with a grain of salt.
Rumors for the Day:
- Although Daniel Bryan said on SmackDown last week that he thinks he'll be back soon, WWE does not have any plans for him and there is no date set. There is, however, some talk that he could be a surprise entrant in the Royal Rumble, which would make sense considering they could protect him in a match like that.
- Although it's not clear who he'll be working with, Sting is penciled in to be one of the featured stars at WrestleMania 31 right now. He's also set to headline the Hall of Fame 2015 class.
- Upon his return, Randy Orton is expected to feud with Seth Rollins. That should last well into January, and possibly past that.
- Not only is Colt Cabana blacklisted from WWE, it looks like no more WWE talent will be allowed to do his podcast, at least not right now and for a long time to come.
- The apparent plan with TNA next year is to travel to a city, book a venue for a few days, tape a lot of television, then take a couple months off before repeating the process. This is necessary because although they got a new TV deal, it's for significantly less money than what Spike TV was giving them and the company will have to be as frugal as ever.
