After trying to include too many gifs in a response to a fellow Cagesider’s post, I just decided to submit something separate altogether.
After the blockbuster CM Punk news hit the interwebs, many of us really didn’t know what to think. Is it real? "He has had legit grievances before." Is it a work? "This is pro wrestling, dummy! Of course, it is." We should be skeptical. After all, Punk and the WWE have straddled that kayfabe/reality line so well in the past. Mainstream outlets thought pro wrestling was real in 2011. Indeed, it wasn’t all that long ago that WWE deliberately misled fans to set us up for one of the most brilliant segments in 2013. Nevertheless, something about this Punk thing just feels different.
He may be more Macho Man to Cena’s Hogan, but he certainly drives a lot of traffic around these parts. It doesn’t hurt that he has worked a ton of matches and has been a consistent ratings draw for the WWE. He has had many great moments, including some that made it pretty far in a certain tournament. I found looking at some Punk gifs strangely therapeutic, and I thought I would share some here.
First thing's first:
Let’s be honest, a number of us may not be here if this hadn’t happened:

You probably liked the Punk romantic angle a little more than you would care to admit to a friend or significant other:

Hey, Mr. Punk. How does it make you feel knowing you have so many people supporting you?
Good enough for me. You have the RESPECT you deserve.
