Mr.Socko`s Cheers and Jeers

2dt2ees_medium

Hello my fellow Cagesiders! This is my first in a series I hope to continue on a weekly bases called "cheers and Jeers". Its pretty simple. I will be pointing out who has made me happy with their work over the course of the last week in the WWE, and who has made me want to punt a small child off a bridge.

Lets Begin!!

Cheers for CM Punk: Ever Since his return and subsequent face turn at the "Payback" Pay Per View, CM Punk has basically been John Cena with tattoos and Hugh Jackman sideburns, kind of just going through the motions, saying the name of the city in a loud excited voice to get a cheap pop, and even beating impossible odds night in and night out. Monday was a game changer. Someone finally really pissed Punk off, and pissed off punk is the best punk as you all know. He walked into Corporate Kane`s office without any fear, and demanded to talk to the authority. He did not let the intimidation tactics work on him at all, and when CM Punk is a badass rebel who does not give a FUCK about your rules, we get things like pipebombs. Pipebombs are best for business.

Jeers for Vince Mcmahon: This may be based on speculation, but the rumor going around is that it was the boss`s idea to turn Daniel Bryan heel, simply to kill a chant that fans were using to hijack a segment. That totally sounds like the work of Vincent Kennedy Mcmahon. I was admittedly for it when it happened, or at least was willing to give it a chance. But as I watched it play out, I realized there wasn`t any real plan for the angle, it was simply a knee jerk reaction. That is a terrible thing to do in storytelling.

Cheers for Daniel Bryan, The Wyatts, and the WWE Creative team: The segment that closed Raw was a thousand times more awesome than it had any business being. The truth is, we were given no reason to care at all about what was happening. The entire angle was a rushed mess, that lasted around 3 weeks, and saw little to no storytelling. But with that said, everyone involved made the face turn seem very special. Bray Wyatt playing the abusive father figure, Bryan playing the conflicted hero, Harper and Rowan playing the henchmen. It all felt very real, and for a second, you would of thought the angle actually had some power behind it. It really did feel like a "fuck yes" moment when Daniel ripped of the Wyatt garb and did one his signature flying knees. The Yes chants worked, everything was awesome, and I completely imagine that Vince Mcmahon realized he royally fucked up, and demanded that someone else fix it. Everyone involve, did indeed fix it.

Jeers: For whoever wrote Big Show knocking out Zeb: I get it, anything heels get they have comin to em. But who in their right mind said, "hey ya know what would really make our babyface look good in front of a bunch of kids? Lets have him dry hump an elderly man, psychologically torture him by prolonging punching him, and then knocking him out". I really hate shit like this. It wasn`t even like zeb was in big shows face, hell he didn`t even cause a distraction during the match, he was in the ring trying to help his friend up. Shit like this really pisses me off.

Cheers to the ultimate warrior and Triple H: Sometimes in life its hard to be the bigger man and let by gones be by gones. The relationship with WWE and The Ultimate Warrior has been rocky to say the least. now I know that some paychecks had to be waved in front of Warriors face, but just to humble up, and put your ego aside to be part of something thats bigger than yourself is a noble thing to do in my opinion.

Jeers: Whoever booked Kofi to go over Orton: I totally get that this was supposed to piss off orton so he would go and attack John Cena`s dad. But why in the name of fuck, would you have your brand new undisputed champion lose to midcarder, especially Kofi Kingston. First of all, its a cardinal sin to have someone in the main event of your upcoming PPV to lose clean on T.V. Secondly, if your going to have somebody beat the "top guy" in the company? Why not give it to a guy who is going to get a "monster push", like Big.E or Roman Reigns?

Well I hope you enjoyed cagesiders, creative criticism is encouraged in the comments.
