So, as I've mentioned before, I took a long hiatus from watching wrestling between around 2001-2012 (or so). I completely missed the Invasion story and though I heard about the acquisition of WCW and ECW, I really didn't think about coming back, because I figured the best and brightest that both rivals would not get their fair shake when the Invasion story came out.
Anyways, this is all a long way to get to my point:
I was a huge fan of all three federations, but I really loved the World Heavyweight Title belt the best. I loved everything about it. It was big, gold, it had a bunch of designs on it, and it was held by some of my favorite superstars during my first run with wrestling (Goldberg, Kevin Nash, Sting, Hollywood, Chris Benoit, etc.) at the time. And it seemed to have way more history to it than the WWF title did (as they changed the actual belt in 1998 after Austin beat HBK, and then they changed it again (to the ugly belt with the spinning thing and then to the okay looking belt it is now-which pails to the original or the 98 belt). So, it wasn't much of a surprising that they have incorporated the belt.
However, in the time since I've come back, it seems to me that the WHC is buried. It has horrible rivalries, it is battled for in matches we've seen already (we saw Christian/ADR and Big Show/ADR and RVD/ADR hella times before the PPV matches, making those match ups anti-climactic and not as good as a championship battle should be, no matter what title it is). I know a lot of you feel the same, but my question is...
Is this just how the WHC is treated, or is this an ADR thing? And if not, why are the brass at WWE hell bent on making the WHC (as well as the IC and US titles) look like shit? Do you think it'll change?
NOTE: It seems to me that the only title worth a shit right now is the WWE title. Do you think that's good for Business-AH
