Well I felt like writing another top 10 list and honestly it was hard to make a top 10 list for X-division champions with their being plenty of fun competitors and solid athletic and gifted athletes.
10. Frankie Kazarian
there were many guys in contention for my number 10 spot seriously, at least 4 other guys I was seriously considering but this list can't be done without Frankie Kazarian, his first reign as champion began in 2004 and his last in 2010, the proof is there, 4 times a champion and a fifth time if you count his time as Suicide, he was a solid X-divsion champion and one of those guys who you thought could legitimately thought could be a World Champion, proving the division wasn't just a bunch of spot monkeys fighting over their only chance at a belt.
One of three 6 time X-division champions who got his first X-division title when he was just 22, Lethal was one of those guys much like Kazarian who often competed out of the X-division and gave the division a sense that these guys could beat the bigger men. This list would feel incomplete without him, one of the longest staples of the X-division, Lethal was a great wrestler who had a fun personality even if it was borrowed.
Amazing Red is agile, athletic and can fly with the best of them, perhaps one of the most fun to watch, a 3 time champion who held the title on 3 occasions, and on one of those occasions holding the title for 106 days, Red was always one of my favorite guys to watch because he could do stuff most other guys simply could not, and make it look absolutely easy.
7. Alex Shelley
Alex Shelley one half of my favorite TNA tag team of all time, is in is own right a great X-division competitor with only 1 title reign under his belt, you're saying surely SPA the other guys before him should be ranked higher....I say, I admit the list has bias, Alex Shelley has it all, mic skills, in ring ability and star presence, he should have had more than the one reign he did but still he was a guy if you wanted to show how awesome the X-division was you could point too and not be let down
I could just say Canadian destroyer insert a gif and nothing else would really need to be said, but I will say this a 2 time TNA champion with the 2nd most total days as champion. He may have had only 2 reigns as champion but he made each one worth it and he has one of the best finishers is wrestling....ALSO he was in Team Canada....so much epic in that stable that I don't need to explain why that's a big deal.
Besides being an awesome competitor in about every fashion possible. He has 4 X-division title reigns and was involved in the biggest X-division title match ever. That match from Unbreakable in 2005 folks is in my mind still the best match TNA has ever had and I don't know how it could ever be topped it really was a phenomenal match that elevated the title more than anyone one single person ever could.
A 2 time champion in the X-division he holds the record for longest TNA title reign at 301 days and was never even beaten for it, he instead created Option C, which allowed him to cash in his title belt for a shot at the World Heavyweight title in a match he won. Aries has probably the best single reign even if it came at a time the division was somewhat weak, he carried the whole thing on his back and tried his damn best to get it to mean something again.
This man is a 4 time TNA X-division champion and competed it the division from when it was just getting started to when it was at its biggest peak thus far, he was there, in the X-division matches battling against Petey Williams,Samoa Joe and AJ Styles amongst many others to leave a definitive stamp on the X-division and its title. Also that match from Unbreakable.....SERIOUSLY.....THOSE THREE HAD AN AWESOME MATCH DESERVING OF THE 5 STAR RATING IT RECEIVED....
The 2nd of 3 man to have held the title 6 times he also holds the record for most days as champion and has been one of the faces of the X-division for a long time, his first X-division title win dates all the way back 2003 and the last time he held that title? 2013, 6 title runs spread across 10 years....that is an achievement truly, and he is rightfully deserving of this 2nd place spot on these rankings.
The 3rd man involved in the epic triple threat from unbreakable, the first ever champion, a 6 time champion and 6th when it comes to total days as champion. AJ Styles was the face of the division for a long time and one of the first guys and prove it was not a title for lesser guys. He went on to hold every other title TNA has ever had for men. AJ in my eyes was one of the guys who made the division what it was, and he earned this spot as number 1. His time in the X-division left us with SO many great matches there would be too many to list
