The WWE heads to Motor City for the seventh annual Night of Champions PPV on Sunday, September 15th at the Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, Michigan.
And so, here are my predictions on what will happen:
(PRE-SHOW MATCH) WWE TAG-TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP NUMBER ONE CONTENDER TURMOIL MATCH
PARTICIPANTS: THE PRIME TIME PLAYERS, TONS OF FUNK, THE USOS, 3MB, & JACK SWAGGER & ANTONIO CESARO
Although these aforementioned tag teams are scheduled to compete, expect a huge swerve to take place before the match begins as Erick Rowan & Luke Harper of the Wyatt Family to take out one of the teams in an effort to get Bray Wyatt and Company in the show.
Anyway, look for Titus O'Neil & Darren Young's momentum to continue as they will get the victory.
DEAN AMBROSE VS. DOLPH ZIGGLER (UNITED STATES CHAMPIONSHIP)
Oh, how the mighty have fallen. Dolph Ziggler's demotion from World Heavyweight Champion to mid-card fodder was due to his reported backstage heat regarding his comments at SummerSlam has resulting in him becoming a jobber to the stars.
With that being said, look for Ambrose's reign to continue.
THE MIZ VS. FANDANGO (UNANNOUNCED MATCH)
Even though this match has hasn't been announced yet, look for The Miz to take on Fandango at the Night of Champions PPV.
With the Miz reportedly turning heel in the very near future, look for Fandango to get the victory.
THE PRIME TIME PLAYERS VS. SETH ROLLINS & ROMAN REIGNS (WWE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP)
A couple of months ago, I would've thought that Rollins & Reigns' reign as tag team champs would end. But, they have gotten their focus back, thanks to being Triple H's hired enforcers.
Even though O'Neil & Young are a great tag team, look for Rollins and Reigns' dominance to continue.
ALBERTO DEL RIO VS. ROB VAN DAM (WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP)
This feud began when Del Rio's former ring announcer Ricardo Rodriguez introduced his new client, Rob Van Dam last month.
Unfortunately, babyface managers don't have the spark and charisma that such legendary heel managers such as Paul Heyman, Bobby Heenan, and Jimmy Hart have and expect Rodriguez to turn on Van Dam and help Del Rio retain.
A.J. LEE VS. BRIE BELLA VS. NATALYA VS. NAOMI (FATAL 4 WAY MATCH FOR THE DIVAS CHAMPIONSHIP)
It's been reported that the Divas Championship is expected to change hands to coincide with the hit E! reality show Total Divas and expect that to be the case here.
As for who I think will win, I like Natalya, which will set up a Natalya vs. A.J. Lee feud heading into Battleground on Sunday, October 6th.
CM PUNK VS. CURTIS AXEL & PAUL HEYMAN (2-ON-1 HANDICAP ELIMINATION MATCH)
CM Punk's feud with Paul Heyman continued after Heyman's client Brock Lesnar defeated Punk at SummerSlam last month.
With Lesnar's limited schedule, Punk turned his animosity towards Heyman's other client, Curtis Axel. Expect Punk to get his revenge win this time around.
RANDY ORTON VS. DANIEL BRYAN (WWE CHAMPIONSHIP)
This feud began when Triple H turned on Daniel Bryan by pedigreeing him after Bryan defeated John Cena to win the WWE Championship and allowing Randy Orton to cash in his MITB briefcase at SummerSlam last month.
Since then, Triple H has ruled the WWE with an iron fast, humiliating the Big Show, humbling Ziggler and The Miz, and even firing Cody Rhodes simply because the McMahon Family despised the Rhodes Family.
Anyway, look for Orton to retain but expect somebody (Triple H, The Shield, or even the Big Show) to interfere on Orton's behalf.
