What happened on TV last week? Find out below, Cagesiders.

Raw (July 29th)

  • Brad Maddox apologised to Vince McMahon for his "bonehead decision" to allow John Cena to choose his own opponent at SummerSlam. Mr. McMahon then got some digs in at Daniel Bryan's expense, before the man himself came out to complain about McMahon's manipulation of Maddox and the complete lack of respect he's given him. McMahon then stirred the pot by suggesting that Cena only picked Bryan because he was sure that Bryan couldn't beat him. The segment concluded with Bryan noting that Vince had always been honest with him, but what matters is what the fans think and they want him to be champion.
  • The Shield defeated Mark Henry & The Usos when Dean Ambrose pinned Jimmy Uso with the headlock DDT.
  • Ryback bullied a little guy in catering and threw him through a table.
  • Kane told Brad Maddox that he wanted The Wyatt Family. Maddox told him they weren't there and that if he wanted to show them that he was still a monster, then what better time to do it than in his match with Daniel Bryan later on.
  • Rob Van Dam defeated Fandango by count-out when Fandango walked out on the match.
  • AJ Lee told off Big E Langston for failing to protect her from Kaitlyn's ambushes, then she laughed and told him that she knows he likes her, before skipping away.
  • In a non-title match, Kaitlyn pinned AJ Lee with the spear.
  • Dolph Ziggler defeated Big E. Langston by disqualification when AJ Lee attacked Ziggler. Langston was pissed off with AJ for costing him the match until she started crying, leading to Ziggler laying out Big E with the Zig Zag from behind.
  • In a non-title match, Christian pinned Alberto Del Rio with a cradle when ADR went for an arm bar.
  • Cody Rhodes pinned Wade Barrett with the Cross Rhodes. After the match, Damien Sandow vowed he was going to send Rhodes, the son of a clown, back to the circus where he belongs.
  • Daniel Bryan pinned Kane with a small package when Kane went for the chokeslam. After the match, Kane went nuts and chokeslammed his former tag team partner, before the Wyatt Family came out and destroyed Kane again.
  • Brie Bella pinned Natalya with a schoolgirl when Nikki Bella distracted Natalya by blowing a duck call and saying "Quack Quack, Natty, Quack Quack" to her, as she's an ugly duckling.
  • Curtis Axel did a promo with Paul Heyman where he proclaimed himself to be more perfect than Perfect.
  • Curtis Axel and R-Truth went to a no-contest when CM Punk attacked Axel.
  • Triple H accused Vince McMahon of pulling Brad Maddox's strings. Vince fired back that he wanted someone like Triple H to defeat John Cena, only 20 years younger. Stephanie McMahon then chimed in that she wanted to give Daniel Bryan a corporate makeover on next week's Raw.
  • In a tables match, John Cena defeated Ryback when he hit Cena with the Attitude Adjustment through an upright table. After the match, Daniel Bryan made his way out and grabbed Cena's WWE title belt. Bryan teased giving the belt back to him, but instead pulled it away, so Cena had to forcibly take it back.

NXT (July 31st)

  • Big Cas and Enzo Amore started the show by singing and dancing awkwardly. Tons of Funk then showed up. Amore and Cassady tried to bail, but Mason Ryan shepherded them back into the ring where they got destroyed by the three babyfaces. Ryan then danced with Brodus Clay & Sweet T.
  • NXT Commissioner Dusty Rhodes was heaping praise on Paige and Emma for their NXT Divas title match last week when Summer Rae complained that she would be the champ if Emma hadn't stolen victory in their semi-final tournament match together. This led to Emma vs. Summer Rae in a "dance battle" being booked for next week's show.
  • Charlotte pinned Sasha Banks with a cartwheel cutter.
  • Renee Young interviewed Tyler Breeze where he was totally channeling Ben Stiller in the film Zoolander.
  • The Wyatt Family (Luke Harper & Erick Rowan) defeats Aiden English & Mickey Keegan in 30 seconds when Rowan pinned English with a standing frog splash. After the match, Bray Wyatt said goodbye to NXT, as his family are off to "bring down the machine" and if we need him, then we can always look to the sky and follow the buzzards.
  • Adrian Neville & Corey Graves talked about needing to team-up to show the Wyatt Family what its like to go through hell.
  • Corey Graves submitted Scott Dawson with the Lucky 13.
  • The Shield came out for a promo where Seth Rollins put over the WWE tag titles as being superior to the NXT tag titles and Dean Ambrose called Adrian Neville a thief who only has a belt because he stole Kassius Ohno's spot. Neville challenged Ambrose to a WWE United States title match next week, which was promptly accepted, and promised to take the trio apart "brick by brick".

Smackdown (August 2nd)

  • Alberto Del Rio started the show announcing that Smackdown GM Vickie Guerrero had allowed him to choose his own opponent for SummerSlam. However, when he picks Ricardo Rodriguez, Vickie was pissed off that he had disrespected her, so she instead booked a Triple Threat match for later on featuring Rob Van Dam, Randy Orton and Christian with the winner getting the World Heavyweight title shot at SummerSlam.
  • In a short match, Cody Rhodes pinned Jack Swagger with a rollup.
  • Damien Sandow attacked Cody Rhodes when he did a backstage post match interview and beat him down until some WWE road agents split them up.
  • Big E. Langston squashed Sin Cara with the Big Ending.
  • Kaitlyn was with her good friend Layla for a backstage interview where she told AJ Lee: "Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, you’re gonna get speared." Layla cut in to put over Kaitlyn's drive and determination, and gave her a big hug.
  • CM Punk submitted Fandango with the Anaconda Vice.
  • In a WWE Divas title match, AJ Lee submitted Kaitlyn with the Black Widow after Layla stopped Kaitlyn from spearing AJ through the ringside barricades. Layla skipped around with AJ after the match, then celebrated with her atop the ramp, while Kaitlyn was left devastated at her friend's betrayal.
  • In a Triple Threat match, Christian defeated Randy Orton & Rob Van Dam when he pinned Orton by reversing an RKO attempt into a backslide. After the match, both Orton and RVD shook Christian's hand, then Alberto Del Rio attacked Christian from behind as he was being interviewed by Josh Matthews and gave him a superkick.

Impact Wrestling (August 1st)

  • Taz was barred from the building by security who had been told to do so by Hulk Hogan.
  • Austin Aries cut a promo putting over new TNA Heavyweight Champion Chris Sabin, vowing to win the Bound For Glory Series and promoting his main event match with AJ Styles. Bobby Roode interrupted and gave himself a pep talk about how he is the IT FACTOR of professional wrestling, which Aries responded to by saying: "You're the IT FACTOR or the SPIT FACTOR, since you keep spitting in my face." The verbal battle ended with Aries hoping that Roode makes the finals of the BFG Series so they can meet again.
  • In a Bound for Glory Series match, Bobby Roode pinned Hernandez when he hit him over the head with a beer bottle behind the referee's back.
  • In a pre-tape, the Main Event Mafia said that they're going to make a deal with Aces & 8's tonight and that we should be looking forward to it.
  • Eric Young thinks he has the answer to Joseph Park losing his head during his matches. Park is hesitant, but wants it to stop, so he goes along with it.

  • Pissed off with being barred from the building, Taz was going to spoil the big reveal for the #August1Warning by opening the door to his limo, but no-one was in there.
  • In a pre-tape interview, Bad Influence squabbled about being paired against each other in a Bound for Glory Series match next week.
  • Gail Kim and ODB went to a no-contest when the two women wouldn't stop brawling on the outside.
  • AJ Styles cut a promo about how it's all about the money and winning the BFG Series, so tonight he will run through Aries on his way to doing exactly that.
  • In an Aces & 8s pre-tape, Brooke Hogan showed up and told Bully Ray that he needed to grant her the divorce she wants because she's in a position to mess with his contract for the rematch against Chris Sabin at Hardcore Justice. Conveniently enough, next week will feature a contract signing for that very match. Ray was flustered but Brooke left in a position of power and control for a change.
  • In a hard fought Bound for Glory Series match, Austin Aries pinned AJ Styles when Styles hit the Pele Kick and both men landed with their shoulders down and an arm over the other, but Aries got his shoulder up at the very last second, while Styles did not.
  • The Main Event Mafia challenged Aces & 8s to a 5-on-5 match at Hardcore Justice with the stipulation that whomever gets pinned to end the match, that wrestler has to leave TNA for good. A big brawl broke up between the MEM and A&8s. When the babyfaces cleared the ring of the heels, Mr. Anderson accepted the challenge. Suddenly the lights went out and Tito Ortiz came walking down the ramp to reveal himself to be the man behind the viral August 1 Warning campaign, leaving everyone dumbfounded and terrified.
