Fantasy Booking: Why It May Be Time for a Shield Face Turn

Hey, all. I decided to drop some quick fantasy booking here. Hopefully, it'll spark a fun conversation about what we would do if we were in the writer's chair (asides from become addicted to pills in the face of the stress of working for Vince and triple last minute rewrites.)

I think we can all agree the Shield has been stale and directionless for some time now. Now, I realize that they have heat backstage, but I'm not going to take that into account here on why a face turn may be in order.

One issue is while there aren't many tag teams, the majority of them are heels (the Shield, the Wyatts, the Real Americans.) That leaves the Usos, who aren't bad but are becoming overexposed, as the only face tag team around. So introducing a face Shield would be a good way to mix things up.

Plus, I think the story right now is a good way to get them back on track with purpose and story telling. They can return to their "correcting injustice" roots and side with Daniel Bryan against Orton and whatever team forms around him and HHH. This screw job is the biggest injustice in the story going so they don't have to make anything up. Plus it'll give them main event exposure by working alongside DB and Orton and maybe a new Corporation/Evolution. It's time to actually address an injustice, boys!

Of course, the big question is can they be good faces? They've done so well with promos as heels (especially Ambrose) that it could be tough to imagine them as faces. But with good heels like Orton and HHH, that would aid them in a face turn. Plus, their in ring work is awesome and people love to cheer for that. And in the end, Ambrose is so creative, I bet any promo he delivers will be good as long as he doesn't try to pander to the fans. They'd have to close up their current story feuding with RVD and Show/Henry first (which may include a tag title drop), but I think it could work and help rejuvenate them.

Plus, that could also set up a Wyatt's vs. the Shield in the future, which would be awesome.

Just having fun here, y'all, so please weigh in and let me know your ideas and thoughts.
