ROH 'Manhattan Mayhem V' features title tournament matches and ominous video

The venerable indy puts on a big show tonight, with spotlights for their tag team division and World title tournament. Get a rundown of what to expect, and the latest pro wrestling mysterious video, right here!

Ring of Honor (ROH) has a big show tonight (August 17th) at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City that probably would have been on internet pay-per-view (iPPV) had they not scrapped those due to repeated technical problems.

The card features lots of tag team action, including a title match between two long-running rivals and a couple of "dream match" caliber affairs between favorites of independent wrestling fans. There will also be three quarterfinal match-ups in the ongoing tournament to determine who will claim the World Title vacated by Jay Briscoe due to injury.

World Tag Team Title Match
The American Wolves (Davey Richards & Eddie Edwards) defend vs. reDragon (Bobby Fish & Kyle O'Reilly)

Fish & O'Reilly have been learning under or battling against the ROH legends since 2010. They were the tag champs until they were defeated by Forever Hooligans on ROH TV. The IWGP Jr. Heavyweight tag champs' reign was short-lived, though, as they were defeated by Richards & Edwards a week later at All-Star Extravaganza V. Tonight, reDRagon looks to ensure that the Wolves latest turn with the straps is also brief.

First Time Ever Dream Tag Team Match
The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson) vs. The Forever Hooligans (Rocky Romero & Alex Koslov)

This is going to be good.

ROH World Championship Tournament Quarter Finals
"Machine Gun" Karl Anderson vs. "Unbreakable" Michael Elgin

ROH World Championship Tournament Quarter Finals
Roderick Strong vs. Kevin Steen

ROH World Championship Tournament Quarter Finals
"The Sicilian Psychopath" Tommaso Ciampa vs. Michael Bennett

All good match-ups, with a lot of intrigue coming from the last one due to the unfortunate way Bennett got here and the fact that Matchmaker Nigel McGuiness has barred his girlfriend and manager Maria Kanellis from ringside.

Scramble Rules Tag Team Match
C&C Wrestle Factory (Caprice Coleman & Cedric Alexander) vs. Adrenaline RUSH (ACH & Tadarius Thomas)

This is also going to be good.

Proving Ground Match
World TV Champion Matt Taven vs. "No Fear" Mike Mondo

If Mondo either defeats Taven, or lasts the time limit, he will earn a future TV Title bout.

The Rubber Match
Silas Young vs. Adam Page

RD Evans (aka Marching/Mixed Martial Archie from Chikara) and QT Marshall will be in NYC to address the tag team division.

And not to be left out of the cryptic video teaser craze, ROH released this video yesterday:

Speculation I've seen has either centered on another return of Homicide (especially given the NYC location) or perhaps something to do with the recently vanquished Steve Corino and/or his S.C.U.M. faction. Corino's involvement with tournament favorite Adam Cole has been hinted at, and with Cole not being on tonight's card, something that furthers that and keeps him in the fan's minds is likely.
