WWE Main Event spoilers and open thread for Aug. 14

We've got spoilers and an open thread for tonight's (Aug. 14, 2013) episode of WWE "Main Event" from San Jose, California, featuring Alberto Del Rio vs. Cody Rhodes, and much, much more.

WWE Main Event comes waltzing back into our lives tonight (Aug. 7, 2013) at 8 p.m. ET on ION Television from San Jose, California. As per usual, this episode was taped on Tuesday prior to the SmackDown tapings.

In lieu of a live blog, we're going to hit you with spoilers for tonight's show while also providing an open thread for discussion once the broadcast goes live.

- Alberto Del Rio def. Cody Rhodes with the Cross Armbreaker. This is an interesting decision in that Del Rio definitely needs the win to look as strong as possible headed into his title defense against Christian but why sacrifice Rhodes for that? Perhaps the feeling is there needs to be added doubt on the Rhodes vs. Damien Sandow match at SummerSlam?

- The Usos def. 3MB (Heath Slater & Drew McIntyre) in your typical Main Event tag team affair.

- Big E. Langston def. Justin Gabriel in a short match. Gabriel has to hold the record for most appearances in the third slot on this show, right?

Enjoy the show!
