My 2013 Money in the Bank Predictions

The fourth annual Money in the Bank pay-per-view commences on Sunday, July 14th, 2013 at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

The Money in the Bank concept is based on the Money in the Bank ladder match in which six to ten WWE Superstars compete in a ladder match with a briefcase hanging in the rafters. The first Superstar to grab the briefcase will have an opportunity to cash in his briefcase for either a WWE Championship or World Heavyweight Championship match in the future.

And so, here is the match card as well as my predictions on who will win:

PRE-SHOW MATCH

JEY & JIMMY USO VS. SETH ROLLINS & ROMAN REIGNS (WWE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS)

The idea of Rollins & Reigns facing the twin sons of former WWE Superstar Rikishi is to give both Rollins and Reigns something to do before their heavily rumored tag team match against The Undertaker and Kane at SummerSlam next month. Even though the Usos are a very talented tag team, expect both Jey and Jimmy to revert competing on WWE Superstars once their feud versus Rollins and Reigns is over.

WINNERS: Rollins & Reigns

WWE CHAMPIONSHIP MONEY IN THE BANK LADDER MATCH

PARTICIPANTS: CM PUNK, RANDY ORTON, SHEAMUS, DANIEL BRYAN, CHRISTIAN, KANE, & ROB VAN DAM

On paper, this is definitely a star-studded lineup. However, there are some Superstars with virtually no shot at winning and so, let's look at what the future has in store for these Superstars:

CM Punk is expected to feud with Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam as I expect Lesnar to cost Punk the briefcase. Christian, Kane, and Van Dam are also longshots to win as well, given that Christian is expected to feud with Dean Ambrose for the United States Championship at SummerSlam, Kane is expected to team up with The Undertaker to face Rollins and Reigns (as mentioned earlier) and Van Dam's part-time status.

Thus, it all comes down to Orton, Sheamus, and Bryan and given that Bryan has been getting huge praise from Vince McMahon as of late, expect Bryan to walk away with the briefcase.

WINNER: Bryan

CHRIS JERICHO VS. RYBACK

This is somewhat of a minor feud as Jericho will be leaving the WWE temporarily as he tours with his band Fozzy, and so look for Ryback to emerge victorious here.

WINNER: Ryback

KAITLYN VS. A.J. LEE (DIVAS CHAMPIONSHIP)

Not since LayCool vs. Mickie James has the WWE Divas ever had a very intriguing feud when the former Chickbusters came to blows last March but have never faced each other for the Divas Championship until Payback last month in which Lee pinned Kaitlyn to become the new Divas Champion.

Expect a DQ win from Kaitlyn which will result in a likely lumberjill match at SummerSlam for all the marbles.

WINNER: Kaitlyn (by DQ); Lee remains Divas Champion

THE MIZ VS. CURTIS AXEL (INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP)

The artist formally known as Michael McGillicutty has finally found his niche since being promoted from being a WWE Superstars regular to Paul Heyman's newest client.

Look for Axel to continue his rise as he defeats The Miz.

WINNER: Axel

WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP MONEY IN THE BANK LADDER MATCH

PARTICIPANTS: WADE BARRETT, CODY RHODES, DAMIEN SANDOW, ANTONIO CESARO, FANDANGO, DEAN AMBROSE, & JACK SWAGGER

Unlike the WWE Championship Money in the Bank ladder match which features the top Superstars, the World Heavyweight Championship ladder match features up-and-coming WWE talent.

Let's look at the participants: Barrett, Rhodes, Sandow, Cesaro, and Swagger are not expected to be in World Heavyweight Championship picture anytime soon as these five men are not over with the WWE Universe and will be lost in the shuffle heading into SummerSlam. Fandango is somewhat over but is considered a longshot and while Ambrose is the favorite to win the briefcase, he is expected to feud with Christian at SummerSlam (as mentioned earlier).

Instead, look for Ryback to somehow sneak his way into this match as he grabs the briefcase for the victory.

WINNER: Ryback

ALBERTO DEL RIO VS. DOLPH ZIGGLER (WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP)

Del Rio surprisingly won the World Heavyweight Championship at the Payback pay-per-view last months but nobody expected a double turn to take place. Without his ring announcer Ricardo Rodriguez, who was suspended 30 days for violating WWE's Wellness Policy, Del Rio will have his hands full when Ziggler defeats him for the World Heavyweight Championship. But...

WINNER: Ziggler

DOLPH ZIGGLER VS. RYBACK (WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP)

Big E Langston attacks Ziggler from out of nowhere, allowing Ryback to cash in his blue briefcase. Ryback makes quick work of Ziggler, setting up a triple threat match for the World Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam

WINNER: Ryback

JOHN CENA VS. MARK HENRY (WWE CHAMPIONSHIP)

Expect Cena's momentum to continue as he defeats Henry to retain the WWE Championship. But expect a very frustrated Henry to attack Cena, which allows Bryan to try to cash in his red briefcase. However, Cena gives Bryan the Attitude Adjustment to end the Money in the Bank PPV on a high note.

WINNER: Cena
