Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.
Important reminder: Rumors are just that -- rumors. None of this has been confirmed as legitimate news or fact; so remember to take it all with a grain of salt.
Rumors for the Day:
- Damien Sandow left last night's (July 14) Money in the Bank pay per view as the "blue" World Heavyweight Championship "Mr. Money in the Bank," but it is possible that that he won't be the one to eventually cash it in. It definitely looks like Sandow will be feuding with former tag team partner Cody Rhodes, most likely with the briefcase on the line in a match at SummerSlam.
- It is expected that the Shield/Usos feud for the WWE tag team titles will now continue to SummerSlam. Originally, it was rumored to be a one-off feud until the Shield could do battle with the Brothers of Destruction (Kane and Undertaker) at SummerSlam. However, questions about Undertaker's health apparently scrapped that plan, and Kane now appears headed for a feud with the Wyatt family.
- Rob Van Dam continues to be added to WWE tours and events. In addition to most Raw and Smackdown tapings through SummerSlam, as well as most of the Smackdown branded house shows, he has been added to WWE's South Africa tour in late July/early August.
- There were some rumblings that, with so much focus on WWE's new developmental center in Orlando, FL, that they may be considering a relocation of their entire operation to the area within the next few years. Florida has some famously lenient taxes, including no individual state income tax, but as of right now, there is no plan for WWE to make that move.
