Wrestler Wrankings™: 2013-14 Season, Week 4

The Undertaker's return has lit a fire under WWE, but what effect will The Phenom have on the Wrankings?

The Undertaker is back in WWE, and he's been an absolute pleasure to behold.

Of course his victory over CM Punk at Wrestlemania 29 was a match that will be long remembered, but we've come to expect that from the Phenom. What we never could have anticipated was Undertaker rejoining the regular WWE roster and performing at a level that few wrestlers could ever hope to attain.

Some of the credit can, and should, be attributed to Kane and Daniel Bryan for providing some rock-solid in ring support as well as gameplanning assistance tor Undertaker's recent run. And, dastardly though they may be, The Shield have certainly proven to be worthy foils and big targets for the Deadman's fury. But make no mistake, it's Undertaker himself who has fashioned the the past few weeks into pure squared-circle magic.

The Shield may have struck a blow by putting Death Valley's favorite son through the announce table, but let's face it, the former 4 time WWE Champion has seen much worse. He's even been buried alive and come back to tell the tale. As Bradshaw said on Smackdown last week, "The Undertaker won't be pushed aside until he chooses to be pushed aside."

And really that's the question. When will the Undertaker return to Parts Unknown, outer space, his local Harley Davidson dealer, the Astral Plane, or wherever it is that he goes when he isn't terrorizing the WWE roster? We can't hope to know the answer to that question. Put simply, our limited perspective of time and space is completely different than that of an immortal undead spectre.

What has become abundantly clear though, especially in light of his return to singles action against Dean Ambrose, is that if Undertaker does choose to stay and compete for any significant part of this wrestling season, then he is the odds on favorite to sit atop the Wrestler Wrankings when the year wraps at Wrestlemania 30.
