The show opened with the usual Hogan/Sting blabfest. Joining in on the fun was that loving couple. Bully Ray and Brooke Hogan.
The first match was the weekly X-Division 3 way with Suicide (Kazarian?) Petey Williams and Joey Ryan. Suicide stole the show and won the match. No ref camera and no Chris Sabin made this probably the best match of the night.
It was certainly better than watching Magnus trying to pull a decent match out of the always horrible Wes Brisco.Aces & 8's shenanigans ended this.
Kurt Angle had to wrestle Ken Anderson, which I guess is better than having him face Wes Brisco. Anderson gets the win when Angle is distracted by the brooding AJ Styles.
Mickie James, sort of heelishly, gets the win and the belt from Velvet Sky. Yay. Good to see Mickie with the belt.
A way too long segment, saved by the appearance of the one and only Shark Bouy, had all of the tag team participants in the Slammiversary match out to get James Storm's big reveal of a partner. Gunner? Gunner?? Really???
Lastly we have AJ Styles putting on the Aces and 8's colors only to take out Kurt Angle but also half of Aces and 8's with a hammer. Don't get me wrong, I love Styles but this just isn't working for me. The 1965 Ringo Starr hairdo and the bad ass persona just doesn't ring true.
