The main event of the WWE Extreme Rules pay-per-view (PPV) tonight (Sun., May 19, 2013) at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Missouri, featured Brock Lesnar and Triple H settling their differences once and for all -- hopefully -- in a steel cage match, the third time the two have met inside the ring.
The story? Lesnar hurt his knee early and "The Game" spent the rest of the match focusing on it, including chair shots, dives, figure four leg locks, and even a Sharpshooter.
It wasn't the most exciting way to blow off their feud but at least they were strong psychologically throughout. Brock hit an F-5 that looked like he took a lot off it due to his knee and actually collapsed underneath Trips' weight on the second one.
Triple H seemed to be greatly enjoying the fact that he was the one getting in all the offense and Lesnar was selling for the entire match, even when he was getting in some offense. Really, the amount of punishment Brock took during this match was impressive.
In the end, it went the way it was supposed to. Lesnar used Triple H's sledgehammer to knock him out after Heyman assisted with a low blow. Brock may have sold the entire match but he stood tall at the end.
Just the way it should have been.
