The opening portion of this article pertaining to The Hardcore Championship was originally written and posted by Sergio Hernandez for Cageside Seats on May 15, 2012. We thank him for his contributions.
At the time, the Attitude Era seemed like the greatest thing since gluten-free, unbleached, whole grain vegan bread.
Looking back now, with the benefit of hindsight, there's a lot of stuff during that period which is darn near unwatchable.
One aspect however, that stands the test of time is the "24/7" defense rule of the Hardcore Championship. The title was up for grabs every second of every day, which often meant the belt would change hands five, six or even seven times in one night. Heck, it would change that often in one match. As a result, Raven, Stevie Richards and Crash Holly each have over 20 reigns as champion.
It was during one of Holly's title runs where things took a HO-rrible turn for the undersized, bleach blonde.
All the way back in 2000, from an episode of Raw in Cleveland, Ohio, today in history, one of Godfather's Ho's -- who was actually Al Snow's wife, I wonder if he knew what she did in her free time? -- Snuck a pin on Holly and became the Hardcore Champion.

"The Jiminez twins were found murdered on June 29, 2009. It was reported that the two brothers checked into a hotel after a Sunday night show. Allegedly, two female prostitutes approached the wrestlers, and were invited back to their hotel room.
There, the two women, who were allegedly part of a group named La Filtracion - known for dosing and robbing men, spiked the men's drinks with what was believed to be eye drops mixed in with alcohol. When the two brothers passed out, they died from the drugs having been added to their drinks. Usually this procedure does not kill the victims of the La Filtracion women, but the size of the victims might have played a part in their deaths.
On July 22, 2009, it was reported that the Mexican police arrested one of the two women suspected in the death of the Jiminez twins. Police traced the whereabouts of the woman by tracking one of the Jiminez' twins cell phones, which she used. The woman admitted to going to the hotel room with the Jiminez twins but denied being involved in their deaths.
On August 12, 2009 Mexican police arrested the second suspect, tracking her down in Hidalgo and arrested her. The second suspect admitted to being at the crime scene but maintained that it was her accomplice that administered the drugs that killed Alejandro and Alberto Jiminez. The two women were later found guilty and, on July 12, 2010, were sentenced to 47 years in prison.
