Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.
Important reminder: Rumors are just that -- rumors. None of this has been confirmed as legitimate news or fact; so remember to take it all with a grain of salt.
Rumors for the Day:
- There was some concern yesterday that WWE Champion John Cena may have re-injured his ankle/heel during the Raw post-show dark match, when he delivered an AA to the Big Show as part of a six-man tag team match. The injury was apparently a work for the house crowd, as the match took place after Ryback attacked his ankle with a steel chair earlier in the night.
- Like most of us, Dolph Ziggler was watching Monday night's (May 13) Raw from home as he continues to deal with the aftereffects of the concussion he suffered at the hands (or, in this case, foot) of Jack Swagger last week. Apparently, his sense of humor was unaffected, as he posted a series of entertaining tweets over the course of the show, making fun of everything from Chris Jericho's outfit to John Cena's moveset. There is still no timetable for Ziggler's return to the ring, as he will be kept out until he can pass concussion testing.
- Apparently, the top WWE decision makers find Antonio Cesaro "boring." To flesh out how ridiculous that is would take more than the blurb I'm giving this here, so be on the lookout later in the day for an opinion piece on that subject...
- Updating the Austin Aries/Christy Hemme situation first detailed on Monday, the situation was handled per TNA president Dixie Carter. When asked, Carter has the following to say: "TNA has ZERO tolerance for inappropriate behavior. The incident with Austin Aries was taken very seriously and handled immediately."
