The Cageside Seats Greatest Finisher Tournament is in full swing, having gone through nearly half the first round and trucking right along. It has been, unquestionably, the best Tournament to date in terms of solid match-ups, upsets, and the great discussion it has created.
However, the comments section of today's match-up between the Crippler Crossface and the Hart Attack revealed a startling fact: some of you have been voting incorrectly.
As noted by Cagesider Bad-Horse when explaining how he's been voting:
I've personally been voting for the move as a whole, and not one persons version of it. (Good example is the Shooting Star Press, although it was the Justin Liger version I took both Kidmans and Evan Bournes versions in consideration).
This is absolutely not the way you should be voting on the match-ups in this tournament.
It is specified in each post who is doing a particular move, in large part because some finishers are used by multiple people. You are not voting on the move itself, although that definitely plays a part in the process, but you're voting on the version of the move done by the wrestler specified who performs it.
For example: When we get to the DDT later on in the tournament, you should not consider how it's done by anyone other than Jake "The Snake" Roberts. The move is done today by nearly every wrestler anywhere but you aren't voting on that. You're voting on it based on how Roberts performed it as his finisher.
Another example: The Ankle Lock. Kurt Angle's version made the tournament, so you should vote for it based on how he performs the move, not Ken Shamrock or Jack Swagger.
I hope this clears that up and everyone can vote accordingly going forward.
