The S3: Vote for Best Performer of the 2013-14 Season, Week 5

Join in a discussion with your fellow internet fans about the past week in pro wrestling: who entertained us the most, and why!

Everybody who comes to Cageside Seats has an opinion about what's going on in pro wrestling - The Smark's Shoot Standings (S3) are where YOU let us know YOURS.

Cast a vote in the comments. Give us the three performers you think entertained or impressed the most in the last week, and feel free to talk about why. And/or vote for your top performer in our poll.

We also have the outcome of last week's voting, the results of which make up our annual competition for Performer of the Year.

Remember, the Standings are for the previous week - the May 6th episode of WWE Monday Night Raw, Wednesday night's WWE Main Event, TNA Impact from May 9th and the WWE SmackDown that aired on Friday the 10th.

Make YOUR mark, smarks!

Sure, he lost both of his televised matches. But what a maneuver!

And I'll take pretty much any excuse to post that gif.

• Dean Ambrose handily won the poll and missed winning back to back weeks by the slimmest of margins. Something tells me he's not done racking up Standings points, though.

• We'll take almost any excuse to throw love D-Bry's way, and a chance to get on the mic and work great matches with Ambrose (no surprise) and Ryback (surprise!) was that excuse last week.

• A lot of comment votes were for The Shield as a unit, but Roman Reigns' name was dropped slightly more often than Seth Rollins.

Zigglypuff!

• The returning Chris Sabin and the hilarious Frankie Kazarian represent the #2 promotion this week. Rounding out the week were a diplomatic Zeb Coulter, who preferred to settle things in the ring rather than call la migra, and Cody Rhodes, who made the most of some time on Raw against a former ally.

The S3: 2013-14, Week 4

1. Antonio Cesaro
2. Dean Ambrose

3. Daniel Bryan
4. Roman Reigns
5. Seth Rollins

6. Dolph Ziggler
7. (tie) Chris Sabin

7. (tie) Zeb Coulter

7. (tie) Frankie Kazarian
7. (tie) Cody Rhodes

Thirty different performers have received annual Standings points through four weeks. I'm pretty sure our leader is the same guy who lead the Performer of the Year race after a month last year, too. Not too much else looks the same, however:

The S3 Performer of the Year - through the Week Ending May 4

1. Daniel Bryan - 22 points
2. Dean Ambrose - 19
3. Antonio Cesaro
- 15.5
4. Dolph Ziggler
- 15
5. Fandango - 14.5
6. (tie)
Seth Rollins - 14
6. (tie) Roman Reigns - 14
8. Ryback
- 10.5
9. Undertaker
- 9
10. CM Punk - 8

So...the week in question was a little rough. Who ya got?

I like to catch up with the video playlists from each show, but maybe you keep your own notes. Or, you can check out the results and what the Cageside staff thought about each show by visiting the sections for Raw, Main Event, Impact and Smackdown.

Then vote (here's the what and how of that) and come back next week!
