The fifth episode of "Off The Top Rope"

(A Cagesider's Pro Wrestling Podcast - made for you - by fans like you) has been made available to you as of Wednesday night (Mar. 27) by none-other-than your fellow Cagesiders, Mike (aka vfn) & Rex Ivanovic (aka Buckeye Brawler). Each episode features the guys discussing the latest news and goings-on of note in the pro wrestling world. Plus, they review a classic professional wrestling event!

This week's episode features chatter from Mike & Rex on the mic about the following stuff:

  • At the top of the episode there is talk of the news, particularly Raw, John Cena with an edge, Antonio Cesaro actually winning a match, and Punk and Undertaker getting physical.
  • It's then on to TNA Impact Wrestling, where the guys discuss one of the best episodes of Impact in the company's history, the great video work by Bully Ray, and the new rules of the X-Division.
  • Then the question is posed (while talking about the future of Dolph Zigger, prior to reviewing a show featuring General Hugh G. Rection) -- "Can a bad name kill a promising wrestler's career?"
  • Then on to the review: This week's show is WCW Fall Brawl 2000, and it is absolutely insane. Random turns, a string of nothing but random gimmick matches, the Insane Clown Posse, child stars getting hit with guitars, faces full of stuff... it is not possible to put into words the surreal majesty of this show.

Next week's show will feature Mike & Rex going back to 2004, with WrestleMania XX. It's the perfect show to go into WrestleMania weekend with. For now though, Mike & Rex would simply like to say:

"Be sure to nominate matches for our listener's choice show, which will be the week after WrestleMania and don't forget to let us know what you thought of this episode, your thoughts on WCW's Fall Brawl 2000, or just flat out what you think about our show in general via any of the ways to get in touch with us...

"Feel free to email us your thoughts and we might read them on the air! Be sure to follow us on social media: @Mike & @Rex on Twitter, Mike on Tumblr, and subscribe to Rex right here on SBNation.

~ Thanks for listening!"
