Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we will be taking a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.
Important reminder: Rumors are just that -- rumors. None of this has been confirmed as legitimate news or fact; so remember to take it all with a grain of salt.
Rumors for the Day:
- Ric Flair was scheduled to be part of the "legends" panel interviewing John Cena and The Rock on last night's (Mar. 25) edition of Raw. However, Flair was sent to the hospital instead, suffering from a blood clot. Flair had to be pulled from a match in January for All Japan Pro Wrestling (AJPW) for the same issue. Just a few weeks ago, word went out that Flair would no longer be cleared to do anything physical ever again in WWE.
- Mark Henry's knee injury over the weekend was obviously not serious, as he wrestled in a match on Raw without issue. It is being described as a "tweaked" knee, and he isn't expected to miss any time.
- As you may have noticed, Paul Heyman is not appearing with CM Punk on nights where Brock Lesnar is also appearing. It is still believed that Heyman will be in the corner for both Punk and Lesnar at WrestleMania 29, however.
- Trish Stratus recently said she would like longtime rival Lita to induct her into the WWE Hall of Fame. It is expected that Lita will do so, but there is no official word confirming this as of yet.
If you have heard of any interesting rumors that you'd like to add, feel free to post them in the comments section below. Please remember, these are merely rumors. Try not to take them too seriously, just have some fun with them.
Editorial note: Initially this post had stated that a promotional poster for WWE Payback slated for JUNE 16, had been leaked featuring only Brock Lesnar. That particular piece of art was likely a fanwork and therefore, until the rumor can be further substantiated it has been removed from this piece. Our apologies for any confusion.
