Slapstick Saturday: Triple H goes nuts on 'Tough Enough'

Michael N. Todaro

Welcome back to another edition of "Slapstick Saturday," Cagesiders, where your old pal Hulk Holland pokes fun at every botch, blooper and bomb the world of professional wrestling has ever given us.

It takes balls to wrestle for WWE, I don't think anyone here would dispute that. But why did Darryl Cross feel the need to prove it on season one of Tough Enough?

The professional wrestling reality show was designed to find the next big industry star and considering it was the inaugural season, they ended up with a pretty decent crop of candidates, all things considered.

Like Kermit says, it ain't easy being green.

As luck would have it, one of the superstars brought in to give the gang a lesson in all things WWE was none other than Triple H. Turns out "The Game" wanted to see the new recruits take a few bumps and thanks to Darryl, he saw a lot more than that.

At the 0:40 mark:

"Take a bump, flat back." CRASH! "Just for further notice, one of your nuts was hanging out of your shorts."

Darryl sheepishly retreats back to formation AND NIDIA LOOKS DOWN AND WATCHES HIM REASSEMBLE HIS SACK. Why did nobody even crack a smile at that? Oh wait, I know, because Triple H was built like a Belgian Blue and they were all scared of dying.

This is why compression shorts were invented.
