Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we will be taking a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.
Important reminder: Rumors are just that -- rumors. None of this has been confirmed as legitimate news or fact; so remember to take it all with a grain of salt.
Rumors for the Day:
- It is considered unlikely that Randy Orton will be turning heel at WrestleMania 29 and joining the Shield as some recent rumors have suggested. The long awaited Randy Orton heel turn could be happening shortly after the event, but not likely at the event itself. WWE had considered the heel turn as far back as Royal Rumble in January, but decided that they needed Orton more in a face role during the Road to WrestleMania. As of right now, it appears that Orton will be teaming with Sheamus and the Big Show to take on the Shield.
- Despite not having the WWE champion present at house shows for nearly two months now, WWE is happy with the attendance numbers. There was some concern late in 2012, especially for theSmackdown branded house shows, but the attendance figures have apparently improved.
- Rey Mysterio is now expected to return sometime in June. Previously, it was rumored that he would be back sometime after WrestleMania 29. He is still advertised for WWE's next UK tour, which starts in April, but that is obviously subject to change.
- It is a definite possibly that WWE will release Jimmy Uso in the near future after being arrested for his 2nd DUI last week. No determination has been made as of yet, however.
