Booking(or lack there of)

Wow. That is all I can say right now Cagesiders. I have not felt this uneasy about the direction of the WWE in quite a while. Maybe that feeling of apprehension is due to the poor booking choices being made in the lead up to the biggest PPV of the year, WrestleMania. Now, don't get me wrong, I am very pleased with some decisions being made. The reunion of the Rhodes Scholars being one of them. Yet as a fan I just cant invest any more time into this product if I don't see a change very soon. When I say "change" I don't mean WWE granting me my hearts desires and booking matches MY way. No, I mean making rational booking decisions that reflect the general consensus of casual and dedicated fans alike. I honestly cannot believe what is passing for "quality" match-ups as of late. It seems like every week wrestlers with real potential(Ziggler,Rhodes,Cesaro) are losing at an alarming rate, and in an incoherent manner. The Intercontinental title scene is non-existent(and don't tell me putting the belt on Jericho is the answer) How about the waning of interest in the Swagger/Del Rio program? Or the way the booking of Cena/Rock 2 has taken shape? Losing to the rock ruined your life Cena? Really? These are weak angles and I for one just cant take much more of them. Give me something interesting please! The only feud for me thats really interesting right now is Undertaker/Punk. WWE has employed the services of Paul Heyman, a genius for storyline development and booking, and so far I feel like they have not used his talent thoroughly enough.Granted hes done a tremendous job with Punk and hes gold on the mic. Is it Vince that's the problem? Is it Triple HHH? Is it Stephanie Mcmahon? I don't know, but something just feels like its missing. I contend that whats missing is the PASSION. The heart of the wrestlers and even the staff just don't seem to be in it anymore. Maybe it seems like I'm complaining and if thats what you want to call it.....go ahead. But the reality is that I am a HUGE fan of the WWE and right now as a huge fan, I'm not getting much satisfaction from its product. I see glimmers of hope on the horizon, and when it comes to pure talent on the roster, theres plenty to go around. But if that talent isn't booked right.....then what the hell does it matter? What do you think? Do you think I hit the nail on the head? Or do you think I'm completely off base? Maybe somewhere in the middle? I'd love to know the opinions of others on what I believe is the most important issue facing the WWE right now.
