Can't get you outta my history posts...
On February 28, 2000, the faction known as 3 Count, comprised of Shane Helms, Shannon Moore and Evan Karagias, won the World Championship Wrestling (WCW) Hardcore title by pinning Brian Knobbs on Monday Nitro.
So how do three people share one belt?
Well, 3 Count enacted the "Freebird Rule," which was created when The Fabulous Freebirds held the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) tag team straps -- for the sole purpose of allowing a three-man group to get in on the tag team title action.
Think Demolition, when they jumped the shark added Crush.
Video of 3 Count, who had one of the more offensive gimmicks (cutesy boy band), winning the WCW Hardcore Championship, right below:
3 Count lost the belts just a month later, but gained Tank Abbott as a manager and special enforcer. Anyone enjoy their feud against the Jung Dragons, or was this just a disaster from start to finish?
