Week 5 Results

Each week, I edit a Google Spreadsheet document to give us our scores. The document includes:

Feel free to check out any math you want, or double-check to make sure I got your picks right.

If you're wondering what each wrestler did on each show, I will post that as a separate comment to this FanPost, so as to not clutter things further.

Now, without delay, Week 5 Results:

  1. 293 - liberty_JAC
  2. 268 - GreyedOut
  3. 262 - Kanenite
  4. 256 - jsims2
  5. 254 - AlexMathew.XtremeHardyolic
  6. 252 - 49erLou
  7. 240 - ReverendKain
  8. 238 - Dannie Ray
  9. 233 - Satish_Ram
  10. 209 - DanosFC

All is right in the world. And this is where I quit because it can only go downhill from here.

"Shenaback back back it up"

The Shield managed to defeat the terrible trio of Sheamus, John Cena, and Ryback. I sort of had a feeling that might happen and backed off, only picking Sheamus; but that's not to say it wasn't shocking -- because it was. It was also really freaking awesome.

All 10 of us had at least one of the three in our picks, and I think most of us assumed a victory was safe with WrestleMania on the horizon and Cena all but set for Rocky Part II. 4 of us picked Ryback (11 pts), 7 had Sheamus (23 pts), and 7 had Cena (11 pts). Swerve!

"Best Worst in the Fantasy World"

Through the first 5 weeks, including 2 PPVs, CM Punk has accrued 36 points. Out of all the wrestlers who have had their points tallied so far, that is the lowest. Punk may be the Best in the "real" World; but he's the worst in our fantasy one. AND THAT'S ALL THAT MATTERS DAMMIT!

"I'm the Miz and I'm... actually pretty good at this"

The Miz gets a lot of crap for a lot of things. Deservedly so. But this week he put on what I thought were two excellent matches with fantastic use of body part targeting. Cesaro may have worked most of both bouts, but Miz sold very well and the duo had some great, quick counters to keep us on our toes. Makes the 2 two of us who picked him this week happy as he reeled in 34 points.

Though Cesaro managed a mere 15 points and did not get any successful title defense points for the 6 of us who had him on our roster; his chemistry with Miz has provided some much-needed legitimacy to the US Title scene.
