Rope-a-Dope: How to Book the WHC without Jack Swagger

Optimism be damned, Jack Swagger is done.

In the vein of RVD, Jeff Hardy, and even Evan Bourne, Swagger has muffed the punt mid-push, de-prioritizing a white hot gimmick for a dimebag of kush. For the purposes of a fantasy book, let's assume he is written off of TV within the next week.

Luckily, the "E" has options on the table, a substantial period of time with which to work, and enough weekly shows to push a new guy to a WHC match at 'Mania.

Here's how the Baron of Bucktown sees it, and keep in mind, I drop these nuggets from the top turnbuckle of truth:

Swagger is attacked backstage on the opening segment of RAW by a group of, by Coulter's standards, unsavory characters. Zeb is left distraught, vowing to continue his fight against all things Un'Merican. Cole and King can't believe it, are all for it; Swagger, the xenophobic heela monster.

CUT TO: ADR giggling and mocking. Ricardo, "We de people! We de people!" A swath of superstars begin to petition Vicki for a shot, including the Big Show. Show gets the nod, he will avenge his losses and take the belt to 'Mania whether ADR likes it or not.

CUT TO: Random Cena silliness, in which he beats Punk cleanly and punches his ticket to a match with the Rock.

CUT TO: Other Raw garbage.

CUT TO: ADR/Show. Match progresses, Show gets pinned, ADR turns to see Big E, who proceeds to beat the ever living funk out of him. Dolph waltzes in, cashes in for the pin. ADR, dejected, vows to regain his honor.

Smarks lick their chops whilst Swagger licks his wounds.

This is the only way to go. It helps ADR get another push, through which he'll have to fight the attacks of Big E throughout the run-up to Wrestlemania. Ziggler gets to play the scared heel, protected by a monster enforcer. He also gets an extended run with the strap. ADR takes a beating week in and week out, gets a ton of TV time, and plays the role of Rocky Mothereffin Balboa.

If the WWE has had its reservations about ADR's place in the main event, this program helps solidify him as a solid, obstacle-overcoming ultra-face.

Swagger was going to job at 'Mania, this is a given. Now he'll be reprimanded, fired, or relegated to Saturday mornings sans a ballsy, white hot gimmick. In the PG Era, one should not value THC over the WHC.
