Here's your Daily Open Thread for Monday, Feb. 11, 2013. As usual, come discuss whatever your heart desires, or unload the depths of your despair, we are here for you either way, for better or for worse. Whether you get bored at work over the weekend, have something on your mind, or just want to chat with all your favorite lovely Cagesiders on any topic you want -- even some wrestling!
Today, I would like to share a video of an instrumental performance. It is not necessarily a favorite song, just one that had significance to my parents. It was an instrumental version of a french love ballad and was a massive chart topper back in it's day, spending over five weeks in the number one slot on the billboard charts, as well as being the theme song for a popular movie theme from "A Summer Place" apparently.
- Paul Mauriat and His Orchestra performing "Love is Blue" accompanied by images of beautiful New Zealand:
The original french vocal is actually the one I find preferable, but alas it was not a chart topper or special to my parents. But since this is my column, I am sharing it as well. Here is a random YouTube chick, user 'Lauramariesongs' giving us her acoustic version. (Plus, I just love the way she says "merci beaucoup au revoir mon tout" at the end, i love singing en français):
Then, after checking that out, you should be sure to scroll on down through the thread, make a comment or two -- or dozens; revisit it throughout the day (and night). You will likely enjoy some of the usual gems from your fellow Cagesiders, including:
Match of the Day, Music Video Link of the day, Babe of the day, Bro of the day, Alison Brie gif of the day, AJ Lee pic of the day, Photo Caption of the Day, and more!
This thread is not guaranteed to cheer up any form of blues you may have; but it will at least give you a venue to gripe about the big game, your work, your weekend, your better half, the kids, heels or faces in your life, or the general public at large. Or perhaps, this is a place where you can celebrate all the shit that makes you happy in this world, or that makes you feel like celebrating having one more day on this crazy planet.
Give it a go, or comment, or lurk... 'til your heart is content!
