Rumor Roundup for Thursday, December 5 - WrestleMania 30, CM Punk vs. Triple H? More!

CM Punk now factoring big into WrestleMania XXX plans?

Today's rumors: WrestleMania 30 plans changed, CM Punk vs. Triple H now on the table? NXT news, and more!

Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.

Important reminder: Rumors are just that -- rumors. None of this has been confirmed as legitimate news or fact; so remember to take it all with a grain of salt.

Rumors for the Day:

  • It is being said that there was a major shakeup in regards to WrestleMania XXX plans last week, and one match now being worked towards is CM Punk vs. Triple H. Past rumors have indicated that WWE wanted to have a match between Triple H and a Vince McMahon representative for control of the company. Whether Punk would fit into that plan or if that plan has been scrapped is not currently known.
  • Time for some various injury news: CM Punk is reportedly dealing with back and rib injuries, and has been working a lighter schedule of late in order to allow him some time to heal up. Rey Mysterio is officially back to work full time and is being advertised for future shows.
  • Yesterday, we mentioned that there is expected to be a wave of NXT call ups to the main WWE roster in the coming months. To the consternation of many, one name missing from the call up talks is current NXT women's champion Paige. There is some good news on that front, however, as it has been announced that Paige will defend her title on an upcoming episode of NXT against Natalya. It is believed that this will be a big test for Paige, giving her an opportunity to match up with one of the best female wrestlers on the main roster.
  • We also mentioned yesterday that Hunico will take over the Sin Cara character for the foreseeable future. However, this may not be a permanent arrangement, as there is some talk that WWE may consider pulling someone from the NXT ranks to take over the Sin Cara character long-term. One obvious connection being made with this rumor is with the rumor that Kalisto, formerly known as Samuray Del Sol, is said to be on track to be called up to the main roster despite having never officially debuted on NXT programming. His size and luchadore style would make the transition to the Sin Cara character an easy one.
