The main event of tonight's (Sun., Nov. 24, 2013) WWE Survivor Series pay-per-view (PPV) from the TD Garden Arena in Boston, Massachusetts, features Randy Orton defending his WWE championship against Big Show.
And we have to figure out some way to get excited for it.
Above is the slick video WWE produced to do just that. Whether it actually accomplishes the feat is in the eye of the beholder. This storyline was promising while Daniel Bryan was the focal point, short as that lasted, but as gotten far less interesting with Big Show as the main protagonist.
Especially because the booking has been building towards a Show vs. Triple H match we may never get, as opposed to the Show vs. Orton match we're getting.
Then again, WWE is also at least somewhat relying on rumors of a double turn -- or, at the very least, a Show heel turn joining The Authority -- to sell this match. Will that prove to be effective? It seems unlikely but it's the strategy the powers that be are employing.
Here's to hoping that at the very least something interesting happens. It's not like we can count on the match itself blowing us away.
