Though he isn't leading the Wrankings, John Cena just may be the best wrestler in the world at this moment.
In a sport where so much depends on a wrestler's ability to compete on a grueling schedule, even many of the all-time greats have difficulty staying at peak health (Mr. Perfect, Rey Mysterio, and Stone Cold Steve Austin, to name a few).
Conversely, John Cena is able to leave the sport for a remarkably short period of time, miraculously heal all maladies, and compete at the absolute height of competition both immedetely before and after his injury hiatus. There's no drop off with this guy!
Meanwhile, Alberto Del Rio has, until recently, enjoyed a nearly perfect season. He has successfully defended his World Heavyweight Championship against all comers. While some might argue that he has skated by against inferior competition while the heavy hitters were with either embroiled in WWE Title scene (Daniel Bryan, John Cena, Triple H, et al.), mired in personal feuds (The Best vs. The Beast), or simply on holiday in hell (Kane, Undertaker, Chris Benoit). They may be right, but Del Rio can only scale the mountains that are before him, and scale them he has.
So here we are. John Cena is a real life Superman with the Championship gold and beaucoup momentum. Alberto Del Rio is a deposed champion with one more shot at the title and a big lead to protect. Which of these superstars will end the season higher in the Wrankings? How will their huge return bout at Survivor Series factor in?
