According to a report from WWE.com, AJ Lee suffered a concussion during her match with Brie Bella last night (Sun., Oct. 6, 2013) at the Battleground pay-per-view (PPV) in Buffalo, New York. Apparently, she was complaining of concussion like symptoms at Monday Night Raw this evening in Pittsburgh and she was evaluated and sent home.
From the report:
"We spoke with AJ and she informed us that ... she struck her head against the turnbuckle and was having headaches and some difficulty remembering her match," WWE physician Dr. Chris Amann told WWE.com. "We examined her and noted that she had some problems with balance and memory recall. She was, therefore, diagnosed with a concussion, instructed to rest and not do anything either physically or psychologically strenuous."
Dr. Amann went on to say that the Divas Champion's availability would depend on the results of her follow-up tests.
A Divas division without its champion, or without Lee, is hardly a division at all. It does raise questions regarding the decision to keep the title on her when all signs seemed to be pointing to a "Total Diva" getting the belt at one point or another.
Perhaps now that will come sooner rather than later.
We wish AJ all the best in her recovery.
