I apologize if this isn't appropriate for me to do, but I wanted to get a chance to share. I live in a little 'city' (as PA classifies it) called Greensburg. And today from 2-4 at a rinky dink little card shop, they had a chance to meet and greet the one, the only, Bruno Sammartino. The autograph was $25, the picture was $5. But it was worth it. I found out a few things before I share the pictures.
1. He can't list a favorite opponent. "They were all good back then when it was real." he said.
2. He doesn't watch today. I asked him who of today he'd want to face (thinking he'd say Cena, or Triple H or even Vince). But he feels that they're trained to be soap opera actors and not actual athletes (which man THAT would be a great storyline--a guy who thinks that way vs Super Cena or something.)
Here's the pictures, first the autograph. It says "To Lou, Happy Birthday. Good Health Always from Bruno Sammartino HOF 2013" (I'm posting thumbnails so as not to cause people's screens to explode)
Here's the picture of me. I'm not really that big, it was a baggy shirt. There's also an odd streak on my face due to lighting I think:
And then this is my mom, mind you she's 5'4" and disabled:
Again, I apologize if this is against the rules, but this was a once in a lifetime opportunity that I wanted to share with you all. Bruno is a class act but so..tough to talk to. I had butterflies the entire time. People can keep their CM Punks, their Undertakers and Shawn Michaels..I prefer to go Old School with my favorites.
