Love Between The Ropes: Cena, D-Bry, the Bellas; Rhodes' Engagement

Brandi Reed and Cody Rhodes -- Let’s hope Brandi gets him to shave the mustache for the wedding photos. - twitter

Welcome to the first edition of "Love Between the Ropes", the occasional column that fills you in on the love lives of your favorite professional wrestlers--because we both know you care, even if you don't want to admit it.

For our inaugural dip into the wrestling romance pool, let's first take a voyeuristic gander at the Christmas celebration of two of WWE's hottest power couples: Medium-term sweethearts Daniel Bryan and Brie Bella (i.e., the one with the classic boobs) and rebound pairing John Cena and Nikki Bella (i.e., the one with the new boobs).

As you may know, Bryan and Cena recently attended the twins' high school reunion in Arizona. Taking it to the next level, the boys appear to have spent Christmas at Casa Bella. Sadly for fanfic writers (no one in particular, of course), the potential for twin magic has been greatly reduced by Nikki's new accessories. Here's a picture of the gang, with a man whom I can only assume is Daddy Bella:

Call me a joyless feminist, but I think the ladies look much better in their natural state. I wonder what the interaction between Cena and Bryan was like? I imagine it went something like this:

Bryan, "So, I just bought all of the existing back issues of Mother Earth News on eBay."

[72 hours of silence ensue]

In other, sadder (for me) news, Cody Rhodes recently became engaged to his gorgeous girlfriend, former Development Diva and self-styled businesswoman Brandi Reed. Let's hope Brandi gets him to shave the mustache for the wedding photos. Brandi triumphantly tweeted a photo of her sizeable rock (and purple nails):
