Mid-Week fantasy Booker: The Intercontinental Cup

Starting this week on Main Event, the WWE will begin the Intercontinental Cup. I for one am very happy about this. In a relitivly short amount of time the WWE has built up the tag team titles, the us title, and now they are working on the intercontinental title. Every champion on the roster seems like they belong there. There are no more champions the likes of Santino, Swagger, or god forbid Ezekiel Jackson.

Main Even has been very useful in developing the roster and titles. I do believe they need to have a World title match about once a month to keep that main event feel but outside of that I believe the show has been a smashing success.

The current list of contenders for the Intercontinental Cup are as follows: The Miz, Kofi Kingston, Darren Young, Antonio Cesaro, Dolph Ziggler, Cody Rhodes, Damien Sandow and Randy Orton. The winner will get a shot at Wade Barrett.

Here is how I would book this awesome cup. Why is it awesome? Becasue it's a wrestling turnament and they are fantastic.

First Bracket:

Antonio Cesaro vs. Darren Young - Cesaro wins

Codi Rhodes vs. The Miz - The Miz wins but his ankle is agitated from the us title match injury

Kofi Kingston vs. Dolph Ziggler - Ziggler wins with a distraction from AJ

Randy Orton vs. Damien Sandow - Orton wins.

Second Bracket:

Cesaro vs. The Miz (with a bum ankle) - Cesaro targets the ankle and gets the win.

Ziggler vs. Orton - AJ distracts the ref and ziggler tries to hit Orton with the briefcase. Orton catches it and lays out Ziggler. After the match Big E. hits Orton with his finisher 5 times or the shield beats down orton really bad.

Final Match to recieve a shot at the Intercontinental title.

Cesaro vs. Orton - Orton hobbels down to the ring and puts up a valiant fight but Cesaro picks up the clean win.

These brackets set up interesting second bracket matches that also allow for advancing some fueds. It also sets up Cesaro and Barret to possible unify the titles if Cesaro can get the win. While bot h are heels they are talented enough that the audience would get into the match. I would say let barret win and keep the titles seperate for now. Barret gets to look good buy beating another champion while Cesaro looks good by winning the cup. This would work best if the final of the cup was on the same show as when Cesaro has to face Barret. This could set up a fun little rivalry where Cesaro is trying unify the titles and since barret isnt an american so he could lose it and keep his cred.
