The Rock finally gets his much-needed revenge on CM Punk

After being ambushed by what it appeared to be The Shield, The Rock simply would not give up as his determination help him finally end CM Punk's 427-day reign as WWE Champion. Guess who's the "Best in the World" now?

No bonus matches

Despite only four matches on the card (five if you include the pre-show match), no unannounced matches took place at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view. The rumored Kaitlyn versus Tamina Snuka match for the Divas Championship was apparently scrapped due to time constraints.

The Rumble match was not the main event

Yep. For the first time since 2006, the 30-man Royal Rumble match was pushed aside by the highly publicized CM Punk versus The Rock match. Yet, Kofi Kingston had another memorable performance which had him on a chair jumping to the ring before being eliminated by Cody Rhodes.

Surprises galore

Goldust and the Godfather made surprising returns in the Royal Rumble match but the biggest shocker was the return of Chris Jericho who reignited his feud with Dolph Ziggler

A feud between the former Nexus leader and the young NXT upstart began at the Rumble match when the two men attacked each other. Could this lead to a future Intercontinental Championship match down the road?

WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP ELIMINATION CHAMBER MATCH

PARTICIPANTS: ALBERTO DEL RIO, BIG SHOW, RANDY ORTON, SHEAMUS, CHRISTIAN, KOFI KINGSTON

After surviving a brutal Last Man Standing match for the World Heavyweight Championship at the Royal Rumble PPV, Del Rio hopes to stave off a star-packed lineup for a chance to retain the easy but it won't be easy.

CHRIS JERICHO VS. DOLPH ZIGGLER

Y2J made his shocking return at the Rumble match and was able to restart his feud with the Show Off. What will happen to these two men?

WWE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP

KANE & DANIEL BRYAN VS. REY MYSTERIO & SIN CARA

The dysfunctional tag team duo surprisingly retain the belts against Cody Rhodes & Damien Sandow at the Royal Rumble. Now that the feud with Team Rhodes Scholars is over for the time being, expect Kane & Bryan's relationship to be put to the test when they take on the masked luchadors.

UNITED STATES CHAMPIONSHIP

THE MIZ VS. ANTONIO CESARO

Despite the former Ring of Honor standout from Switzerland retaining the title from the Awesome One at the Royal Rumble pre-show, this feud looks like that is far from over to being resolved.

ELIMINATION CHAMBER MATCH FOR THE WWE CHAMPIONSHIP

PARTICIPANTS: THE ROCK, CM PUNK, RYBACK, DEAN AMBROSE, ROMAN REIGNS, SETH ROLLINS

After finally defeating CM Punk, for the WWE Championship at the Royal Rumble, The Rock looks to hold on against not only Punk, but Ryback and in a twist, all three members of the Shield. Should The Rock retain, then all eyes will be on The Rock vs. John Cena for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 29.
