When Monday Night Raw was held in San Antonio, TX, they hosted a "Shawn Michaels Appreciation Night" for the Texas-raised Superstar. On Monday (Sept. 10) Pat Patterson will have an appreciation night in his hometown of Montreal, Canada. So it makes perfect sense that on Oct. 1, when Raw rides into Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, WWE will honor one of the greatest commentators of all time.

Jim Ross has suffered through more than his fair share of hardships throughout his tenure with WWE. For whatever reasons, Vince McMahon has made "Good Ol' JR" his personal whipping boy. The WWE CEO's actions are petty at best; but the mocking of Ross's bells palsy was completely and utterly disgusting and unredeemable.

Wouldn't it be great to have a genuine "Jim Ross Appreciation Night?" He really was one of the best at the desk and many of WWE's greatest moments feature his voice lending a dramatic flair, like no one else could. If there is anyone who deserves to be honored, it is most certainly the Oklahoma native.

Although, it's hard to shake the feeling that this has only one way to play out. What do you think Cagesiders, is it likely to end badly, or will JR be treated with the kind of respect CM Punk can only dream of?
