It seems fairly obvious WWE are going to push Ryback into a title feud and likely have him go over as well given recent developments or at the very least are testing the waters with the WWE universe as to how they would react, which i have to say is nice to see them actually taking the time to carefully develop this talent, perhaps they learned their lesson with A- Ry,who STILL gets a big pop.
But that begs the question, who fits the bill?I think it is pretty safe to say that the WWE championship and the World Heavyweight championship are not going to be 'fed' to Ryback, though to be honest how many of you would rather see Shay-mooooos defend his world title against Albertie for the...............actually that is a good question, anyone know how many times those two have faced of this year, both in non title and title matches?
After the jump i take a look at his possible opponents
So deducting the two premier champs from the equation, that leaves.........well,very little.Let's look at the options:
The United States Championship/Antonio Cesaro
I really like this from a pure wrestling point of view,i really think these two could compliment each other well but i don't know how much sense it makes to put 2 guys on pushes against each other.I mean,if done correctly it could definitely work out,but i feel that it would be a risk putting Ryback over Cesaro right now, just as he is starting to gain momentum,i feel the whole posh european thing has promise especially if he rechristens the USA championship as the european one and builds off of that.
Also Aksana really compliments him well and could really help him out in feuds as the sexy smart scheming diva. And god is she sexy.
Ryback on the other hand, although he has been slowly developed on TV has really caught fire in my opinion,i didn't like the idea at first, but i think that was mainly due to having to sit through almost the exact same match twice a week,i think he plays his character really well and actually benefits from not having a manager, putting him over a guy like Cesaro who is also on the rise is probably not the best option.
The Intercontinental Championship/The Miz
This is probably the best course of action, the Miz is is good in all area's and could really draw heat from the crowd with Ryback, not to mention help get him over,i think they could have some good matches as well, but most importantly i feel the miz can afford to eventually lose to Ryback without killing any momentum for him and could easily get back into the WWE or World title hunt after, with either champion but something about miz/shaymoos appeals to me more, especially given being the face champion.
Though let's be honest, both champions need someone fresh to feud with, but especially Sheamus,i think it really hurts him AND ADR being constantly put against each other,in my opinion they should have had ADR beat sheamus for the title and have him chase him for a bit before winning it back if they were gonna give us sheamus vs ADR for so long.
...............which leaves us the tag championships.Which actually, the previous one would not be a bad angle.Having Ryback and Mahal being forced to tag or something, mahal leaving ryback to get double teamed only for ryvback to actually win and became the tag team champion.....s
Of course with the current tag champs that will never happen.Somewhere down the line, maybe even soon,i would love to see a heel Kofi/Truth team.
Where is the damn hardcore title when you need it?
